🚨Policy Alert: House Passes Senate’s Continuing Resolution, Securing Delay of OMB's Proposed Uniform Guidance Overhaul

On Tuesday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 6500, the Senate's Continuing Resolution (CR), the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2027, by a strong bipartisan vote of 370–48. The bill now heads to the President, who is expected to sign it into law.

NAFOA has raised concerns about OMB's proposed rule, including its implications for funding security, ambiguity regarding DEI-related provisions, added administrative burdens, and the absence of meaningful Tribal consultation during its development.

This delay gives Tribal Nations some time to prepare; however, OMB's proposed rule is still pending. The temporary measure lasts only until December 11, 2026. NAFOA urges Tribal leaders and finance professionals to stay engaged and aware.
