I'm a 4-year-old, 60-pound blockhead with a heart three times my size. What I need most right now is someone willing to give me a chance.

My life hasn't always been easy. I spent most of it tied to a chain outside before ending up in a small county shelter. My time was running out when ROAR stepped in and saved me. Now I'm safe, but I desperately need a foster or adopter to help me take the next step toward the life I've always deserved.

I am fully house-trained, crate-trained, and ready to be someone's best friend. I love walks, adventures, belly rubs, and being part of the family. I absolutely adore other dogs and kiddos, though I can sometimes get a little excited and play rough because I'm still learning all the house-dog rules.

I'm figuring out what toys are mine, what isn't mine, and how wonderful it is to live indoors surrounded by people who care. With patience, love, and guidance, I know I'm going to be an amazing companion.

After years of being overlooked, all I want is a soft place to sleep, a family to love, and someone who sees me for the good boy I am.

Hey there!!

I’m pickles 🥒 !! I'm a 4-year-old, 60lb blockhead with a heart three times my size. I am looking for a life of adventures…. You see …. I spent most of my life tied to a chain outside and then found myself in a small county shelter …. I was almost out of time, when ROAR found me and made me part of their family.

My Ideal Home: I’m looking for a loving, active family who can give me daily walks and lots of attention. I am fully house-trained and crate-trained.

I absolutely LOVE other dogs and kiddos but I can be a little rough. I'm also still learning how to live in a house and which things are ok to chew on. With patience and love, I will get there. I am eager to learn though and have so much life ahead for continued progress!

I've had a tough start, but I’m ready to leave that behind for a new life.

🚨 𝐖𝐄 𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐏 🚨
Our rescue has been hit hard with medical cases, and we are asking our village to rally around these dogs once again. Every single dollar truly makes a difference.

🆘 𝐊𝐎𝐀
Koa is a little Frenchie facing some very big medical challenges. He was pulled from a local shelter after staff believed he simply had an upper respiratory infection. But once his foster got him home, she quickly realized something much more serious was happening — Koa could barely open his jaw at all. He was dangerously thin and unable to properly eat.
He was rushed to the vet, and it is suspected he is suffering from Masticatory Muscle Myositis (MMM), an immune-mediated disease where the body attacks the jaw muscles. After a few days on steroids, Koa has made small improvements and can now eat watered-down wet food slurry.

Now we need your help to continue his care. Koa urgently needs additional testing, including a biopsy procedure estimated at $300. On top of that, his new medications this week cost $112. Combined with an emergency expense for Kanga, we have fallen behind another $372 in vet bills.

Right now, we need to raise approximately $2,100 just to catch up on current veterinary costs and move forward with Koa’s diagnostics.

🥒 Meet Pickles! 🥒

Pickles is a 4-year-old, 60lb blockhead with a heart three times his size and a spirit that refuses to quit. This sweet boy is finally discovering what love, safety, and family feel like — and now he’s searching for a forever home to call his own.

Before coming to ROAR, Pickles spent most of his life tied outside on a chain. When he landed in a small county shelter, his future looked uncertain… until a plea post caught the right eyes and ROAR knew they had to save him. Now this lovable goofball is getting his second chance at life. ❤️

Pickles is looking for an active, loving family ready to show him the world he’s missed out on. He absolutely ADORES other dogs and kids, though he can still be a little rough and goofy as he learns how to simply be a dog. He’s discovering the joys of toys, comfy beds, couch cuddles, and yes… learning which things are not chew toys. 😅

He’s still figuring out home life, but with patience, consistency, and love, Pickles is going to thrive. He’s eager to learn, eager to love, and eager to make up for lost time with adventures, walks, and snuggles.
Despite his difficult past, Pickles wakes up every day ready to trust again. Ready to love again. Ready for his person.

How has this smiley, snaggle toothed little princess not been scooped up yet???

🐕 Pheobe 🐕

This 1-year-old sweetheart was found as a stray, and her adorable underbite will have you smiling instantly — it’s pure perfection.

Pheobe is a fun, high-energy little girl who LOVES fetch (especially her favorite orange tennis ball — yes, she knows which one is hers 😂). She’d thrive with another active dog her size and would make a great little watchdog.

She can be cautious with new people at first, but with patience and slow introductions, her playful, loving personality shines. Because she needs time to build trust, we recommend kids 10+ who respect her space.

She’s doing great in her crate and is still working on potty training — she’s food motivated and eager to learn!

We don't claim to be perfect. Nor, are we claiming to be better than anyone else.

👉But it IS different here.

✴️We don't ask you to take a dog directly from the shelter, a stray or an owner surrender. We have a specialized intake team for that. Each new dog/puppy spends 2 weeks in intake. They are assessed behaviorally, medically and in every other way possible so that we know as much as we can before they are adoptable or ready for another foster.

✴️We don't ask you to take a puppy/dog indefinitely. In fact, we ask for fostering from one event to the next. Typically one week.

✴️We don't ask you to pay for anything for your foster. We supply all you need.

✴️We don't ask you to transport. If you can't make an event with your foster, we will work to find someone who can transport.

✴️We do adoption events virtually every week to get our adoptables seen as much as possible.

✴️We have a chat set up for any problems, questions, concerns or issues you may have with fosters or even personal things.

✴️In that same chat we post the puppies/dogs needing a foster and you can choose who you think fits your dynamic best.

✴️We believe this rescue is a family. And we support each other in that manner.
