Remember this
I was asked to post this message to the members of the HOA:
If you hear noise that doesn't belong at weird hours of the day - like a dirt bike or four-wheeler being run down your street at 10 p.m. - please call the police. Or even during the middle of the day.
There are noise ordinances in the area and that violates them. Part of your HOA agreement requires that you maintain a respectful level of noise in your home. We understand that sometimes noise is out of your control, but these incidents are becoming too frequent, and unless you are able to quickly modify the behavior we will be forced to take action that may include civil citations (for a first warning from the police) to criminal misdemeanor charges (for multiple police interference). North Carolina General Statute 14-4 states that noise limits from 7 am to 10 pm is 60 decibels. This is equivalent to normal conversation with a person seated at the same as you. From 10 pm to 7 am the noise limit is 55 decibels. This is the same as whispered conversations. We're not all on the same work, sleep, play hours, so we should all try to be respectful of each other.
