Happy 11th Birthday, Miles. 💙

Today, you would have been 11 years old.

We wish more than anything that today looked the way it was supposed to — eleven candles on a birthday cake, your mom and dad beside you, friends gathered around, laughter filling the room, presents to open, pictures to take, and another year of memories being made.

You should be here celebrating.

Today, we celebrate you, but the truth is, we carry you with us every single day.

We wonder who you would be at 11. What would make you laugh now. What you would be interested in. What your favorite things would be. What stories your mom and dad would be telling about you. What dreams you would already be starting to have for your future.

There are so many moments that should have been yours.

More birthdays. More school pictures. More holidays. More vacations. More ordinary evenings at home. More hugs. More chances for your mom and dad to watch their little boy grow.

And it is impossible not to wonder how different life would look today if a different choice had been made.

That is part of why your story continues to matter so deeply to us.

🎡 NADD is returning to Safety City at the NC State Fair! 💙🚗

We’re proud to announce that Nurses Against Drunk Driving (NADD) will be participating in Safety City for our THIRD year!

Safety City brings together law enforcement, state agencies, nonprofits, and community partners with one shared goal: keeping North Carolina families safe.

Throughout the fair, visitors can explore interactive exhibits focused on roadway safety, impaired driving prevention, seat belt safety, and more.

And on October 21st, you’ll find NADD there!

If you’re visiting the State Fair that day, come by Safety City and visit our team. Learn more about our mission, meet some of the nurses and advocates behind NADD, and help us continue the conversation about preventing impaired driving.

North Carolina’s Booze It & Lose It campaign puts increased attention on impaired driving and reminds motorists that getting behind the wheel impaired can have serious and sometimes irreversible consequences.

BOOZE IT & LOSE IT — DRIVE SOBER, ARRIVE ALIVE

This Labor Day weekend, the Sanford Police Department is joining law enforcement agencies across North Carolina in the Booze It & Lose It campaign, supported by the Governor’s Highway Safety Program.

If you’re drinking, don’t drive. Plan ahead:
✅ Designate a sober driver
✅ Use a rideshare or taxi
✅ Get a ride from a friend or family member
✅ Never get behind the wheel impaired

DWI doesn’t just put your life at risk—it puts everyone on the road at risk. A night of drinking should never end with a crash, an arrest, or a tragedy.

Sanford Police Department will be out working to keep our roads safe.

This weekend, Nurses Against Drunk Driving (NADD) stands with law enforcement agencies and organizations like MADD working to prevent impaired driving and save lives.

What is Saturation Saturday?
Saturation Saturday is a nationwide impaired-driving prevention effort focused on increased, highly visible law enforcement patrols and sobriety checkpoints. The purpose isn't only to identify impaired drivers, it's to deter someone from making the decision to drive impaired in the first place.

As nurses, we see what happens after that decision goes wrong: traumatic injuries, devastated families, and lives changed forever.
We would rather prevent the crash than treat its consequences.

If alcohol is part of your plans this weekend: 🚗 Designate a sober driver.

📱 Use a rideshare or taxi.
🏠 Stay where you are.
🔑 Never get into a vehicle with an impaired driver.
One safe decision can save a life.
