What an exciting end to CTE month and National FFA Week! The Central Electric Member Care Trust powered by voluntary donations from Central Electric members, awarded the Southern Lee HS FFA Chapter a grant in the amount of $3,000.

The grant will be used to fund and support the care of the small animals used for teaching purposes and hands on learning opportunities for students. We are able to make our chicken operation safe and self sustainable for our agriculture program.

The grant funds also provide FFA Chapter Jackets to be worn at leadership events and conferences. The jackets allow students to present themselves in a professional manner, increasing self confidence
and pride.

Thank you for celebrating National FFA Week with the SLHS FFA Chapter!

We kicked off this week with our Button Find Challenge! Then we started collecting items for our chapter community service project for CARA. We rounded out the week with our Annual Pancake Social!

It’s time!! Though the weather is still very cold, things are starting to heat up in the Southern Lee Agriculture Program’s Greenhouse!

🌼 After days and days of remote learning students were eager to get to work!

🌸 Students in ALL classes pitched in to get plants in pots after they had been delayed due to winter conditions!

This is my favorite time of year. Though winter had most places quiet and still, the hope of spring brings these busy bees to life in preparation for what’s in store!!

We hope to see you all in April!

As another year draws to a close, we hope we all can take a moment to appreciate the ‘little bit more.’ The Southern Lee FFA Chapter and I wish you a Merry Christmas, a joyful holiday season, and a prosperous New Year.

Southern Lee FFA Student of the Quarter is Taylor Wilder!

Taylor is in the 9th grade and has joined the FFA this year. She participated in setting up the Lee Regional Fair Educational Booth, helped to support the Goat Show and is a very active member of the SLHS FFA!
