Late post: last weekend our small but mighty crew packed backpacks filled with essentials for our unhoused community for The Picnic Project!

Thanks to Rebekah, Charlene and Dante for packing these backpacks last weekend!

We provided another load of backpacks to our friends at John E. Polk Correctional Facility. We partner with them to ensure that folks being released who are unhoused don't leave completely empty-handed. Inside the new backpacks are supplies like hygiene products, snacks, hats, sunscreen, insect repellent and socks and more.

Once again our friends at Sanford Lake Mary Kiwanis provided the packs and most of the items, and packed them for us! We are so grateful for their continued support Picnic Project and especially this program!

At Picnic Project, we believe everyone deserves hospitality and that each of is better than the worst thing we've ever done.

Another great volunteer event at Harvest Time International! Thanks to everyone who spent their Saturday morning with us!

We joined residents and staff from Central Florida Home For Good to plant their garden this morning! We won a mini grant from the Florida Kiwanis Foundation for this amazing project! This garden will enable residents to grow their own produce and herbs. Special thanks to our Trustee, Kathy, for joining us this morning!

Thank you to all of our special guests who attended our meeting tonight. Education was certainly our theme! We met our $1000 Essay Contest winner Isaiah, who plans to study Architecture at UCF. Greg from Seminole State College thanked us for our sponsorship of the Earl Weldon Memorial Scholarship and told us about this year’s recipients. Autumn Garick, Vice-Chair of SCPS, told us all about the amazing programs and accomplishments in Seminole County and various ways we can volunteer with the Dividend Program!

Thanks to all who volunteered yesterday at Harvest Time! We sorted food and toiletries and stocked the shelves for their store for local non-profits!

Huge congratulations to our very own Rebekah Richey for winning Senior Dividend of the Year for Seminole County Public Schools!

We applied for and won a mini grant from the Florida Kiwanis Foundation! Today Rebekah and Rachel presented a check for $750 to Kathie from Central Florida Home For Good. This money will be used to create a garden for their residents to grow their own food! More pics to come as we partner with this fantastic organization to bring this project to life!

Rebekah and Rachel dropped off half of the $500 worth of tuna our club donated to The Picnic Project for our division wide Ton of Tuna Drive! We only could drop off half as we cleared the shelves at Walmart! Will drop off another load in a few weeks once they restock. These tuna packs will go into local school food pantries.
