Stockings4Smiles I created S4S in 2016 and it is a nonprofit organization that accepts donations for Danbury Hospital & Danbury Women’s Center during the holiday season.

I know that during this time it is a great time to help and give to those in need. I happened to have extra stockings laying around the home and wanted to fill them and give them out. I have reached out to a few local hospitals as well as women's shelters to donate stockings to them. If you would like to participate please fill a stocking with kid's activity kits, puzzles, coloring books,and/or st

uffed animals. Anything that the children can play with from a hospital bed. As for the women's shelter- they need underwear and socks the most but could use toiletries of any kind. Please make sure that everything is new and packaged and please no food.

Our Story

During this great time of the year, nothing is better than to help and give to those in need. I started Stockings 4 Smiles as I was decorating for the holidays and came across 3 extra stockings in my attic. At the time, I wasn’t quite sure what to do with them. I did know that I wanted to do something nice, maybe fill them, and give these 3 stockings out. However, I was unsure as to who to give them to. It was at that time that I thought,

“If these 3 stockings could help just 3 people in need, what if I could do more?”

I decided to ask friends, family and co-workers if they would like to donate gifts for children and women in need, when the littlest bit can mean the most. In the first year, we collected more than plenty to donate to unfortunate children staying at Danbury Hospital as well as the women in need at the Danbury Women’s Center.
