Minnesota's Travis Law was enacted to improve responses to Mental Health Crisis and strengthen coordination between law enforcement, mental health professionals and community resources.
We would like to ask the candidates running for sheriff in Pine County if elected how will you ensure Travis Law is fully implemented and enforced within the county? Specifically what steps would you take to improve crisis response, officer training, collaboration with mental health providers and access to resources for individuals affected by mental illness? What measurable actions would you take during your time as sheriff to ensure Travis Law is more than just a law on paper but a reality for Pine County families facing mental health crisis?
