Give Like Dolly Day is coming September 25!

Dolly Parton believed in giving back and helping children dream bigger—and this year, we’re celebrating that spirit through Give Like Dolly Day.

On September 25, we’re inviting communities all over the world to join us in giving back to children by supporting your local Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program. Your support helps make it possible for the children in your community to receive a free, high-quality book every month from birth to age 5.

As we celebrate the life and legacy of Dolly Parton and her amazing Imagination Library, we encourage you to consider donating. She and her family requested this in lieu of flowers! It is easy, and you can designate our county. It is listed as GAWASHINGTONCO/SANDERSVILLE. Here is the link:

Make a donation and support Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in communities around the world and help put more books into the hands of more children.

In 1995, Dolly Parton started mailing books to children in her home county to inspire children to love reading in honor of her dad, who couldn’t read or write.

That idea lives here too. Now every month 340 or more children in the Washington County GA area find a book in the mailbox — because of neighbors who fund it, volunteers who run it, and a woman from Sevier County, TN who started it all.

Thank you, Dolly. We will always love you.
