AFD is 100% volunteer-run, donation-funded nonprofit dedicated to eliminating financial barriers so every child has the opportunity to play, grow, and thrive.

We provide free programs that promote physical fitness, personal growth, and family connection. At AFD, we are dedicated to fostering youth development and offering no-cost family activities to strengthen our community. Our mission is to create inclusive, welcoming spaces where individuals of all ages can connect, grow, and thrive together. We organize a diverse range of events designed to bring f

amilies closer while promoting active engagement. From hands-on workshops and recreational activities to social gatherings and family-focused events, AFD ensures that every opportunity is accessible and enriching for all. By prioritizing safety and inclusivity, AFD provides children and adults with meaningful experiences to build lasting relationships, collaborate, and share joyful moments. Through our efforts, we strive to inspire a sense of belonging, connection, and growth for every member of our vibrant community.

💙 LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES💙

As parents, coaches, mentors, and leaders, we won’t get everything right. I’ve made many mistakes. Who hasn’t.

What matters most isn’t pretending to be perfect, it’s being willing to learn, grow, and do better for the children who are watching us.

Children won’t remember every rule we made or every lecture we gave. But they will remember how we responded when they were struggling.

When a child feels left out, they need to know they belong.
When they cry, they need to be seen.
When they get angry, they need understanding and peace.
When they fail, they need encouragement.
When they ask for help, they need to know someone will show up and guide them.

Every challenging moment is an opportunity to build trust instead of fear, confidence instead of shame, and resilience instead of doubt.

❤️ If my journey has taught me anything, it’s that our response today becomes our child’s inner voice tomorrow. Let’s choose to be the voice that lifts them up.

Our community, we need your help. ❤️🏈
Hi! We are Active Family Development (AFD). A local 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to removing financial barriers so kids and families can stay active. Our mission is to promote healthy, active lifestyles by providing free sports, fitness, and recreational programs that build confidence, teach teamwork, and strengthen families.

In January, we launched the Warhawks Youth Tackle Football program here in San Tan Valley—and thanks to this amazing community, we completed an incredible first season filled with growth, learning, and unforgettable memories FOR FREE!!

As we prepare for Season 2, we're committed to keeping this program 100% free for every family. This year we'll be serving 50 young athletes across two teams, including 18 brand-new players who need helmets, shoulder pads, and other essential equipment.

Right now, we're facing three major deadlines:
🏈 Uniforms must be ordered by July 27
🏈 League registration ($8,899) must be paid by August 1
🏈 Equipment for new athletes by August 1

We're asking our community to help us make this happen! Every donation—large or small—goes directly toward registration fees, uniforms, and safety equipment for these kids. Your generosity gives a child the opportunity to play, belong, grow, and succeed regardless of their family's financial situation.

If you're able to donate or know a business that would like to sponsor a player or our team, we'd be incredibly grateful. Together, we can ensure that no child is left on the sidelines because of cost.
