Angels Unaware San Saba County

Once again I am overwhelmed by the village of volunteers who rally together to make Christmas special for children in our county. It truly is the best part of living in our little community. We see generosity year after year, and year after year volunteers put in a ton of hours to make this day work!!! 102 children in San Saba County received a special delivery this week. Thank you to our volunteer firemen in Richland Springs and San Saba who took the time to make the delivery extra special. Thank you to my wrapper elves (Debbie, Pam, Cathy, Cissy, Michele, Ellie, and Debbie) who wrapped over 500 gifts! Thank you to Amy and Shannon for making bows for all the bags! Thank you to Arrowhead Bank for taking donations, and hosting our Angel Tree. Thank you to Alamo Pecan for being our official drop off location, and First Baptist Church for being our wrapping station!

We will begin wrapping all the wonderful gifts next week (December 8th-12th). We thank you so much for taking the time to choose a tag and shop for gifts. You truly are an Angel to the children of San Saba County!

We are now unable to accept any new applications for the 2025 Angel Tree.
There are still about 20 tags on the tree that need "angels" to adopt them, so please swing by there this week and grab one to help a child have a Merry Christmas. Thank you to everyone who has already taken tags and purchased gifts. We cannot do this without all of you!!!
We will collect all the gifts from Alamo Pecan and begin wrapping next week. We appreciate all of our helper elves who come and wrap ALL those gifts for us!! It's a HUGE job and I know the children love to see the beautiful packages that are so lovingly wrapped.
It takes a community to pull this off each year, and we are so grateful to each one of you who make it all happen.
Donations are great if you can't shop....we have a few elves that love to go out and find special gifts. You can leave money at Arrowhead bank and just tell them it's for Angel's Unaware!

Just a reminder that tomorrow, December 1st is the last day for us to accept applications for the 2025 Angel Tree. Please understand that we have to have a cut off day in order to have enough time to shop for gifts and then get them wrapped and ready for the firemen to deliver them. Thank you for understanding!

Thank you so much everyone for your patience as we worked our way through last year's names. With our volunteers having jobs and other obligations, it is taking longer for us than in year's past. I'm happy to say we have reached out to all of our families and are now starting to reach out to new applicants. Bear with us as we work through that list, and if you have contacted us already, just know we will be in touch soon. Thanks again for understanding!

We have started reaching out to our previous Angels Unaware families this weekend. There were 100 children last year, so it takes a lot of time to get through that list. Please be patient as we go through the list, and know that we will eventually get to all of you. After all of those families have been contacted, we will be able to start intaking new applications. There's plenty of time before the tree goes up in November, so we appreciate you guys hanging in there during this month.

The Angels Unaware Program is run by volunteers, many of whom have jobs or other responsibilities. We will start reaching out to our previous families first; usually around the month of October. After we go through that list, we will be able to start contacting any new families that would like to see if they qualify. Please be patient with us. We are a very small group of volunteers, and it takes a long time to reach out to each family. Keep checking back to this page for any updates. Thank you for understanding.
