Paws In Need - Bay Area Paws In Need is a California 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to improving animal welfare Why Another Animal Non-Profit?

Paws In Need is a 501(c)(3) non-profit all-volunteer organization that provides financial assistance for spay and neuter surgeries, necessary one-time medical treatment of community animals (feral, stray or owned), and medical care for low/no-income residents in the Tri-Valley area (Livermore, Pleasanton, Sunol, Dublin, San Ramon and Danville). Paws In Need has expanded the availability of financi

al assistance for Spay and Neuter surgeries to the general public. This is needed to reduce the number of animals that come to local shelters costing taxpayers millions of dollars each year. Under the Urgent Care/Advanced Procedures program, Paws In Need helps cover one-time costs for pet owners who cannot afford necessary emergency veterinary care. Its goal is to prevent unnecessary suffering and / or euthanasia of pets because the owner lacks financial resources.

Cissy -- Success Story

Paws In Need was contacted by the owner of sweet, tiny Cissy. She was feeling lethargic, likely dehydrated and while her owner was so worried, he did not have the funds to get her the vet care she needed. We were able to aid in some of the financing with an urgent care assistance grant and get little Cissy in to our friends at Doolittle Pet Hospital. Her bloodwork came out normal, owner says she’s finished the medications, is back to eating normally and is doing great. While one follow-up visit with the vet is likely, we were so happy to hear Cissy is feeling so much better.

Sweet Indi -- Success Story

Indi was found in an apartment complex in Pleasanton, being fed by a few different residents. One concerned resident decided to catch her and get her fixed so no unwanted litters were born in the complex. That’s when we at Paws In Need were contacted about our low cost spay/neuter program. Once caught, she was taken to our partner Gateway Pet Hospital. During recovery, the concerned family fell in love with her and didn’t want to return her to a life outside. Choosing between Indigo and Violet for a name, they settled on Indi. Based on her photo, we think Indi approves. Thank you to the selfless family who took the next step to save this beautiful young teen kitten!

REPOSTED
Paws In Need was thrilled to receive a generous grant from the Rotarian Foundation of Livermore to help fund the
Low-Cost Spay & Neuter Program!
We are truly grateful for their commitment to supporting local nonprofit organizations and for believing in our mission to improve animal welfare in our local community!
Local nonprofits like Paws In Need serve as a critical safety net, reaching vulnerable populations who might otherwise fall through the cracks.
This grant will go a long way towards helping so many struggling pet owners afford essential and preventive veterinary care, allowing us to reach more individuals, assist more animals, and create a lasting, meaningful impact.
Also, as we celebrate National Pet Month, it serves as a reminder to slow down and appreciate the many ways pets enrich our lives every day. By strengthening our understanding, deepening our connections, and being more intentional with our care, we create happier healthier lives for the animals who mean so much to us!
Whether they're providing laughs with their "zoomies" or snuggling up to us when they sense we're sad, pets contribute so much love and benefit to their owner.
