Urban Missionaries of The Heart of Christ INC. Vision: Dwelling in the Heart of Christ, we seek to be universal brothers and sisters to the poorest of the poor.

Like the Holy Family of Nazareth, in our humble and little way we seek to bring Jesus to our neighbors by our presence, our charity, our joy. Mission: As Urban Missionaries, we serve the least of our brothers and sisters in Albay. We make friends with the homeless, street children, mentally challenged, prostitutes, and persons deprived of liberty. We give them food, drinks, clothes, blankets and toiletries.

TODAY'S GOSPEL
Luke 8:4-15

As for the seed that fell on rich soil, they are the ones who embrace the word and bear much fruit through perseverance.

✠ A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke

When a large crowd gathered, with people from one town after another
journeying to Jesus, he spoke in a parable.
“A sower went out to sow his seed.
And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path and was trampled,
and the birds of the sky ate it up.
Some seed fell on rocky ground, and when it grew,
it withered for lack of moisture.
Some seed fell among thorns,
and the thorns grew with it and choked it.
And some seed fell on good soil, and when it grew,
it produced fruit a hundredfold.”
After saying this, he called out,
“Whoever has ears to hear ought to hear.”

Then his disciples asked him
what the meaning of this parable might be.
He answered,
“Knowledge of the mysteries of the Kingdom of God
has been granted to you;
but to the rest, they are made known through parables
so that they may look but not see, and hear but not understand.

“This is the meaning of the parable.
The seed is the word of God.
Those on the path are the ones who have heard,
but the Devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts
that they may not believe and be saved.
Those on rocky ground are the ones who, when they hear,
receive the word with joy, but they have no root;
they believe only for a time and fall away in time of temptation.
As for the seed that fell among thorns,
they are the ones who have heard, but as they go along,
they are choked by the anxieties and riches and pleasures of life,
and they fail to produce mature fruit.
But as for the seed that fell on rich soil,
they are the ones who, when they have heard the word,
embrace it with a generous and good heart,
and bear fruit through perseverance.”

A Father, His Children, and a Simple Mission

Meet Kuya Boy, our carpenter, whose two children would always go with him wherever he works. Today, they joined him in gathering bamboo that will be used for the perimeter fence of our mission and formation house.

It is beautiful to see how children naturally want to be close to their father. They don’t just watch him work—they share in his journey, his sacrifices, and his simple joys.

As we build this humble place of mission and formation, these moments remind us that the most beautiful things are often built through simple work, family, friendship, and love.

Bamboo by bamboo, we build. Heart by heart, we grow.

🚨🚨THE RISING SHOOTING INCIDENTS IN THE PHILIPPINES SHOULD ALARM US.

Beyond the headlines, we must ask a deeper question: What is happening within the human person that can lead to such violence?

We need more than physical security. We need psycho-spiritual integration—bringing together mental-health care, emotional healing, human formation, moral development, and spiritual accompaniment.

Many people carry wounds, trauma, anger, loneliness, rejection, and hopelessness in silence. These realities need to be recognized and addressed with compassion and professional help, together with spiritual resources that help a person rediscover dignity, meaning, conscience, forgiveness, hope, and the value of human life.

We often feel immense joy after Confession because something deep within us has been restored: our relationship with God.

That is the heart of Confession:

We return wounded.
Christ receives us with mercy.
We are forgiven.
We go home with peace.
