Wilmington ranked 51st out of Los Angeles’ 114 neighborhoods for graffiti removal requests, according to new data highlighted by Crosstown.

Residents submitted 690 graffiti removal requests in Wilmington during the reporting period, placing the community near the middle of the citywide rankings.

The report also found that Wilmington recorded 3,209 graffiti complaints during the same period a year earlier. While the latest figures represent a significant decrease in reported requests, the report notes that citywide graffiti data may be influenced by changes in reporting practices and how requests are tracked.

Across Los Angeles, the city received 252,224 graffiti cleanup requests in 2025, down from 317,374 in 2024. According to the report, that represents a 21% decrease citywide.

Westlake recorded the highest number of graffiti removal requests in Los Angeles with 57,443, far more than any other neighborhood.

The findings come as Los Angeles prepares for the FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympic Games, with city leaders facing ongoing concerns about graffiti, illegal dumping, litter, and other quality-of-life issues across many communities.

Do these numbers reflect what you’re seeing in Wilmington, or do you think graffiti is more common than the data suggests?

🚨 L.A. Parking Tickets Dropped 20% Citywide — So Why Is Wilmington Still Getting Hit So Hard?

Los Angeles is issuing hundreds of thousands fewer parking tickets than it did a decade ago.

But in Wilmington, drivers were still slapped with 14,572 tickets last year — ranking the neighborhood No. 38 out of all 114 L.A. neighborhoods.

So while parking enforcement slowed across much of the city after COVID, Wilmington barely saw relief.

Residents already complain about limited parking near apartments, industrial areas, port traffic, street sweeping routes, and overcrowded residential blocks.

Now some are asking:

Why are working-class communities still getting ticketed this heavily while enforcement drops elsewhere?

The city says fewer parking officers and rising costs are behind the overall decline in citations citywide.

But for a lot of Wilmington drivers, it probably doesn’t feel that way.

Residents in Wilmington filed 86 sidewalk complaints over the past year, according to MyLA311 data highlighted in a Crosstown newsletter examining infrastructure issues across Los Angeles.

The report says sidewalk complaints citywide more than doubled compared to last spring, with officials struggling to keep up with repairs tied to aging infrastructure, tree roots, heavy rains and shifting ground.

Wilmington ranked No. 27 out of Los Angeles neighborhoods for sidewalk complaints.

The city says repairing sidewalks can be difficult and expensive, especially when large tree roots are involved, but residents continue reporting cracked and uneven walkways that can create hazards for pedestrians, seniors and people with disabilities.
