Our April meeting had a bit of a plot twist when our scheduled speaker had to bow out. But if there’s one thing the HRCC knows how to do, it’s pivot!

William Hills (General Counsel ) stepped in at the 11th hour to lead an incredible, high-stakes discussion on employment claims. What could have been a setback turned into one of our most engaging Q&A sessions yet.

Meet Stefanie Stratton, HR Director at the SLO Country Club and one of our newest HRCC board members. With over 25 years in the industry, Stefanie is a go-to expert for all things employee relations and CA labor law. She joined the board last year because she loves to learn and share HR practices that bridge the gap between different industries.

For Stefanie, HR is a natural fit for her personal morals and work ethic. Her favorite part of the job? Helping people find their “forever career.” She brings a leadership style that is supportive, collaborative, and developmental to everything she does.

When she’s not navigating workplace regulations, Stefanie is likely hanging out with her granddaughter or prepping for another move—she’s lived in six states and moved 16 times! We’re happy to have her seasoned perspective on the board. 🌟

HRACC is dedicated to supporting and advancing HR professionals across the Central Coast through education, connection, and professional development. By strengthening the people behind organizations, they play a vital role in helping our local business and nonprofit community thrive.

When she isn’t leading the charge as the Lead HR Business Partner at Entegris, Misty is a driving force here at HRCC. If you ask her why she stays, it’s all about the community. While she’s a pro at the heavy hitters—think Employee Relations, Wage & Hour Law, and Org Change—she’s currently diving deep into the world of AI. She’s on a mission to find out how we can make our daily HR tasks faster, smarter, and way more efficient. 🤖⚡️

Misty’s Golden Rule: In a field where everyone expects us to be walking encyclopedias, she’s here to remind you: It is 100% okay to say, “I’ll look into that and get back to you.” (Preach! 🙌)
