Are you someone who enjoys the vast realm of public speaking? Someone who desires a platform to express their elaborate ideas? Then look no further! Bay Area Youth Career Opportunities (BAYCO) – an organization sponsored by the Fremont Union High School Foundation that strives to propel career-related success for high schoolers through educational workshops, professional development, and networking opportunities – is now in collaboration with the world-renowned organization TED-Ed.
The TED-Ed Student Talks program supports groups of students developing TED-style talks in over 100 countries. On any given day, 50,000+ students are led by educators through the process of identifying, developing, and sharing their ideas. Every day, educators are incorporating TED-Ed Student Talks into existing curricula, programs, and extracurricular activities in innovative ways and educators report an increase in students' confidence skills and ability to develop their original ideas, as well as the development of student’s speaking, perspective-taking, empathy, cultural and global awareness skills. This initiative provides students the opportunity to identify, develop, and share their ideas in the form of short, TED-style talks. Students are then invited, but not required, to share their Talk with the world by uploading it to the TED-Ed Student Talks Youtube Channel.
