If you’re the kind of person who can lead a hike in the morning, rally a craft table in the afternoon, and help spark campfire joy at night, this might be your season.

Spend your summer outside, build leadership skills, and help families make memories that last long after the last s’more is toasted.

Due to falling rocks and continued rain in the forecast, Park Rangers have temporarily closed Alum Rock Park to vehicle traffic for safety.

Local access remains open for neighbors.

We’ll continue to monitor conditions and will share updates as soon as vehicle access can safely reopen.

Open spaces are where traditions come alive — from family gatherings to cultural celebrations passed down through generations.

As we welcome the Lunar New Year, we celebrate our community’s diversity and the shared spaces that bring people together to mark new beginnings. Strong parks help strengthen cultural connection, belonging, and joy across San José. 🧧✨

Love your parks? ❤️

Every safe playground, shaded trail, and welcoming green space exists because people care enough to speak up, give back, and advocate.
This Valentine’s Day, show some love for San José’s parks — because when our community invests, our parks thrive.
