Linden is a 3-year-old, 45-lb pittie mix with a sweet, affectionate personality that shines outside the shelter. His volunteer friends describe him as a happy-go-lucky pup who loves attention. He walks nicely on leash, knows “sit,” has great recall, and can offer both paws on cue. He’s highly food motivated and eager to learn.

On a recent Dog Day Out adventure, Linden was calm and easygoing and stayed close to his walking buddy. Walkers, joggers, cyclists, and passing dogs didn’t bother him. Although squirrels and cats caught his attention, he was easily redirected with treats. Linden was friendly with men and women alike and enjoyed petting and affection, even from his brand-new friends in uniform! After spending the last couple of months confined to a kennel nearly 24 hours a day, Linden is experiencing a high level of kennel stress. Shelter staff also reported that he growled and barked at the helper dog in an on-leash introduction. *** Linden should be an only pet in the home***

Linden needs a home where he can be the social, loving dog he is outside the kennel. With his friendly nature, eagerness to please, and love of treats, he’d be a rewarding companion and a great candidate for continued training.

🚨 EXPO NEEDS PLACEMENT BY 5 PM ON 10/13 OR HE WILL BE EUTHANIZED

Expo is a silly, dorky pup outside of his kennel. He doesn't like all the noises and barking in his room (and he becomes part of the problem!). When you approach his kennel, he can be loud, jumpy, and over-aroused, but he's still excited to come out with volunteer friends.

Once he is outside of his room, he immediately starts to calm down. He generally walks close to you, sometimes a little too close personal space-wise, likes to sniff, and is a quiet boy. During his time outside with volunteers, he has not reacted to other dogs, including those that have reacted towards him, and he chooses to just move on.

When meeting dogs at the fence yards, he has shown a loose, wiggly body and sometimes gives play bows. With a proper introduction, he could live with another dog but might be a little slow to pick up on another dog’s corrections. In the yard, he continues to enjoy sniffing and has not shown much interest in toys (but will take great interest in a towel!). He will run some zoomies and come back for some check-ins and snuggles with his handler. He takes treats nicely and knows sit.

If you’re looking for a goofball with a sweet heart, Expo may be your guy!
Expo is 4 years old and 50 pounds.

Gnocchi is a 99-pound, est. 7-year-old dog who proves that a big boy means a bunch of big love. This affectionate, playful, and cheerful boy is looking for a home that can match his energy and his enthusiasm for life, and in return he will give you everything he's got. Don't let his older age fool you; this boy is still very much in his energetic era, and he loves running, playing, and long walks with someone who can keep up with his stride.

As a big (and strong!) boy, Gnocchi does best with a confident, strong handler who can manage his size and enthusiasm. He loves his fellow canines, but his size and strength mean any canine introductions need supervision.

When he's not playing, he loves pets, butt scratches, and soaking up all the affection you're willing to give him. If you're an active, experienced foster or adopter with room in your life for a squishy, adventure-loving giant, Gnocchi is absolutely your guy.

Ginny is a 4-year-old, 53 pound Boxer mix in need of rescue due to kennel stress.
Outside of her kennel, she is sweet, affectionate, and social with both people and other dogs.

Ginny enjoys stretching out in the sun and playing with toys. What she loves most is spending quality time with her people. She settles quickly and needs a soft place to land.

Ginny is spayed and current on all vaccines. She just needs a safe place to decompress and someone willing to give her the chance to thrive outside the shelter.

Brian is a 1½ yr old, 56-lb pit bull who volunteers describe as “strong, goofy, affectionate” and full of personality.

Brian knows how to sit, lie down, and offer both his left and right paws. He loves showing off what he knows for a good treat! He enjoys a good game of fetch or entertaining himself with a plush toy. Brian is also a total sweetheart who loves soaking up attention and collecting pets from all of his volunteer pals.

Brian is a playgroup rockstar and regular participant. His prefers “rough & rowdy” play, so he likes to wrestle, jump, and roll around with other dogs. Sometimes, he prefers to explore and sniff every corner of the yard. He does best with females and NEUTERED male dogs.

On “Tails & Trails” outings, Brian walks well on leash and truly shines. He is easy to redirect when interested in squirrels or other small animals and remains calm passing people and dogs. He gets excited when he sees cyclists and would be a great match for an active adopter.

Sadly, Brian has been at the shelter since May, and kennel life is taking a toll on him. Spending nearly 24 hrs a day in a kennel has led to a significant decline in his well-being, and he is currently experiencing high levels of Fear, Anxiety, and Stress (FAS).

He needs an active home that can provide structure, enrichment, exercise, and continued training. Brian deserves the chance to show who he is outside the shelter.

BORYS HAS RESCUE ❤️ FOSTER NEEDED 🏡

Borys is 5 years old, 64 lbs, and has been struggling with the stress of the shelter environment.

Most dogs simply cannot tolerate shelter life. The fear, noise, confinement and constant stress can overwhelm them. Dogs like Borys need more than 3–4 days to secure rescue and a foster home.

Thankfully, an amazing rescue has stepped up for Borys. ❤️ Now we need a foster who can give him a quiet place to decompress and give him the space to thrive and find his forever home.

🐾 Borys can be shy with new people and needs a little time to build trust. Volunteers have found that walks and a game of fetch are great ways to connect with him.

🐾 He is an excellent walking companion with good leash manners. Volunteers report that he doesn't pull and has been non-reactive when passing other dogs.

🐾 In volunteer-run playgroups, Borys enjoys running and playing with dogs who have a gentler play style. He does not enjoy rough wrestling or jumping. He would do best with another calm dog in the home or as an only pet.

🐾 Medical handling is particularly stressful for Borys, and he has resisted handling during vaccination attempts. His foster will need to understand fearful dogs and work with experienced veterinary professionals to keep future care as low-stress as possible.

Borys needs a quiet home, patience, and time to decompress. His rescue is ready. Now he just needs his foster. ❤️

Willow was surrendered to the shelter for euthanasia because her owner could no longer care for her. 𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

Willow is approximately 11 years old and a 73-pound German Shepherd who has clearly gone without the care she needed for quite some time. She has severe chronic dermatitis with extensive hair loss and secondary bacterial and yeast infections. She is also underweight with poor muscle condition, has chronic ear issues, and is missing most of her teeth, with her remaining teeth severely worn down and the pulp exposed.

𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱. She’s walking around, exploring, enjoying being outside, and has even met another dog. Under all that damaged skin is a dog who deserves the chance to feel good again.

Her skin won’t heal overnight. The veterinarian expects it may take 𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿, but Willow has already started that journey.

Pinky is a playful, confident guy who loves his dog friends, kiddie pool time, walks, squeaky toys, and leaning in for pets from his favorite people. He does great in doggie playgroup.

Pinky is a loose-leash walker and knows sit and down. He’s very treat-motivated and has shown good manners on walks. He can be a little jumpy when excited, but is easily redirected.

After a few weeks in foster, Pinky returned with even better impulse control and less jumping on walks. He’s a fast learner and clearly enjoys being around his people.
Outside of his kennel, Pinky is a happy dog, with a loose, wiggly body and lots of love to give.

Pinky will be euthanized because he has shown fear, anxiety, and stress (FAS) in the shelter. This behavior includes spinning, barking, jumping, and occasional mouthy behavior such as leash biting. In February, while being returned to his kennel, Pinky bit a staff member on the arm, causing a small puncture.

Pinky is about 2 years old and 54 lbs. He is chronically underweight and has intermittent diarrhea and currently eats a special diet with B12 and a probiotic. His future adopter/rescue should be prepared to continue working with a veterinarian on his ongoing GI needs.

Due to his high shelter stress and arousal, the shelter recommends placement with someone able to provide a lower-stress environment, decompression, behavioral support, and appropriate management.
