Coron OPOCUS trainees’ final hands-on exam with Ma’am Chrissy Schutzer who travelled from Oregon, USA to give her final yay or nay before graduation.

The Puerto Princesa Underground River is an 8.2 km navigable underground river located within a UNESCO World Heritage site in Palawan, Philippines.

A 45-minute guided paddleboat tour takes visitors through pitch-black, spectacular limestone caves filled with dramatic stalactites and thousands of bats.

Of course, after medical mission: time for retreat and group bonding.

Ugong Rock Cave is a 75-foot limestone formation in Barangay Tagabinet, Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

It gets its name—ugong, or "echo"—from the hollow ringing sound the rocks make when tapped.

We hiked, squeezed through narrow cave crevices to the summit, and ziplined down.

Our final date of OPOCUS may have arrived, but the passion, determination, and commitment to learning continue. It was even a challenge to get our trainees to stop scanning space – space a true statement to their enthusiasm and dedication.

Life Matters International (LMI) is again a Richmond, Ca based non-profit dedicated to reducing maternal and infant mortality by training primary caregivers, providing preventive care, and equipping communities in underserved regions with essential medical technology: ultrasound.

We are very proud of our professional trainees from Cuyo, Agutaya and Magsaysay from the different islands of Palawan. Exhaustion did not hi der their learning. Resilient!
