Pride wants recognition; humility gives God the glory. Pride resists correction; humility is teachable. Pride compares itself with others; humility serves others. Pride says, “My will”; humility says, “Your will, Lord.”

Men, the challenge is not simply to look strong, but to become men who are strong enough to surrender. A man God builds is a man whose pride God is allowed to break.

The antidote to pride is humility, and the pathway to humility is surrender.

James 4:6: “God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

What a blessed and meaningful Men’s Retreat! “The Man God Builds” may have ended, but what God started in our hearts must continue.

Brothers, we were not called simply to attend a retreat—we were called to return home different: stronger in Christ, deeper in His presence, faithful to our families, and committed to making disciples.

The retreat is finished, but the MOVEMENT continues.

The Man God Builds

This retreat is more than a weekend away. It is an opportunity to step away from the noise and allow God to work on the man behind the title, the job, the responsibilities, and the image others see.

Psalm 127:1 reminds us, “Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it.” The same is true of a man. We can build careers, reputations, families, and accomplishments—but if God is not building us, something essential is missing.

Men, with one prayer:
“Lord, tear down what You did not build in me, strengthen what honors You, and build me into the man You designed me to be.”

Come and expect God to do some construction.

Many men struggle with direction in life. The world offers many different ideas about what it means to be a man, but those ideas often change and leave men confused about their purpose and identity.

Psalm 119: 105 says, “You’re word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
God’s Word provides the guidance a man needs to walk in the right path. It helps him where to step and understands God’s design for his life.

A man becomes the man God intends him to be by following God’s Word. Through Scripture, man learns to love God, lead with humility, take responsibility, serve others, live with integrity, and walk in obedience to Christ. Rather than allowing culture to define his manhood.

Real manhood is not define by power, wealth, status, or popularity. It is define by faithfully following God’s path and becoming the man He created and called him to be.
