On this consider a donation to these goobers!

No gift is too small and all are appreciated. As an all-volunteer organization, our team works tirelessly (and without pay) to bring music to the Sunset and beyond! Funds are used for rehearsal space, purchasing the music we play, and to repair specialized instruments like the sousaphone, a version of the tuba suitable for playing while standing.

We can’t thank those of you who regularly drop a dollar in our donation bucket enough. If you plan to make a larger contribution, tax-deductible donations can be made through our sponsor, the , a registered 501(c)(3) community nonprofit. You can find a link for that in our bio.

Please join us tomorrow, Saturday, August 23rd at noon, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 16th Avenue Tiled Steps!

We’ll be performing a short set at the base of the stairs on 16th Ave and Moraga.

The flight of 163 steps is covered in “over 2,000 handmade tiles and 75,000 fragments of tile, mirror, and stained glass” and considered to be the world’s longest mosaic staircase.

The project was initially conceived by neighbors Jessie Audette and Alice Yee Xavier who were inspired Brazil’s Escadaria Selarón. They partnered with artists Aileen Barr and Colette Crutcher to execute the mosaic panels.

We’re looking at a busy August!

Join us on August 2 as we celebrate the opening of , a new creative space in the Sunset, built for cozy community gatherings and crafting.

THE VERY NEXT DAY, on August 3 at noon, we play with an updated set list that includes five new songs!

On August 23rd, we’re excited to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 16th avenue tiled steps. Will we run up and down the steps while playing? You’ll have to attend to find out!

Lastly, we will be the featured group at the Golden Gate Park Bandshell the evening of November 21st. Playing at the Bandshell is a huge honor and we can’t wait to perform for you all.

We’ll likely have additional yet to be scheduled performances this fall so stay tuned for that announcement.

🎉🥳Happy birthday to us! 🎉🥳

Today marks the anniversary of our first ever public performance: marching down the Great Highway for the Fourth of July Parade.

And my goodness how we have grown since; our band has expanded from a small group of ten to over forty musicians and counting! While we mostly call the Sunset District home, it’s been our pleasure to perform all over San Francisco.

Thank you for your endless support, we wouldn’t be here without you ❤️

Also, Happy Birthday America 🇺🇸

We’re excited to share this year’s very full calendar of planned performances. We may still have a few other surprise performances here and there, but these dates are all locked in!

We’re especially excited for our on May 4th, which we anticipate will be a particularly *forceful* experience, and our Golden Gate Park Bandshell performance on November 21st where we will really be able to show off how far we’ve come as an ensemble.

Let us know if you’re coming to any of these performances and if there’s a particular piece you’d like to hear; we’ll try our best to incorporate it.

All performances are free and open to the public.

🚨Important!! The dates on a now deleted post were inaccurate. Please see this updated post for correct times and dates. 🚨

Will the kids even get this meme?

Any trumpet players out there who can save us from ourselves? We’ve managed for seven months without a trumpet player, but things are starting to get dicey! Here are a few of the instruments we’ve used to cover the trumpet parts, but we’re getting sick of transposing.

If you play trumpet, please send us a message so our percussion section doesn’t have to bust out kazoos at next practice!
