Our final featured artist is the incredible Julie Grantz!

Julie creates narrative drawings and paintings that process lived experience and challenge preconceptions about women and nonhuman animals while celebrating resilience, joy, identity, and cultural imagination. Her pieces stand as acts of resistance and reclamation—giving form, dignity, and strength to the figures she depicts. Julie’s work has been exhibited at the Triton Museum of Art, and her drawing "Wishbone" was selected for de Young Museum's The de Young Open. She lives in Alameda with her son and beloved fur babies.

Experience Julie's exquisite art and empoweringvision at our salon next Thursday, June 18 -- her birthday! 🥳 Register here: https://luma.com/vic8x6ae

She works to protect sensitive and endangered species and landscapes through land use planning and policy. Using scientific research and storytelling, Tiffany’s research and advocacy spans preventing amphibian disease spread in wildlife trade, promoting sustainable marine fisheries, and getting more wildlife crossings on our roads. She holds a doctorate in environmental science and engineering.

For World Ocean Day, we're starting our artist features with SS Julian, an award-nominated cartoonist, designer, and creator of the Octopolis comic series. A lifelong scuba diver, SS creates immersive underwater worlds and scientifically accurate, adorably accessible illustrations that celebrate the diversity and interconnectivity of the ocean...when he's not volunteering at Aquarium of the Bay and the California Academy of Sciences, that is! 🐙

Join SS at our "Being (Non)Human" salon on June 18 in Berkeley! https://luma.com/vic8x6ae
