CCA’s living legacy of staff, faculty, and students rallied together on Tuesday to demand better a better solution for the community. With 120 years of arts education, institutional knowledge, and a wellspring of creative innovation for SF at stake the community showed UP. What we are asking for is the retention of staff and faculty who are devoted to their students, a recognition of our unions and commitment from to maintain a robust arts and design program on this campus. has touted the sale of CCA as a win for SF. Did you know that our local, SEIU 1021, just mailed out ballots to elect members of the Executive Board? This is an exciting time to participate in the democracy of our union! Fellow members are putting on a series of forums for us to hear from candidates, and the next one is right around the corner.
This Sunday, January 19 from 11a-1p at the union hall on Rhode Island, come hear what the candidates for the top of the ticket have to say about their plans for the future of our union!

On Friday September 27th, 16 of our coworkers received layoff notices from CCA, and 3 coworkers received 20% layoff notices. These represent huge cuts to the work we do every day with students and faculty. Each one of these layoffs are reverberating deeply for the workers who received the layoff not...

For the second time in just over a year, we’re facing staff layoffs. We say NO. The admin must cut from the top first in order to preserve the vital services we provide to students!

For our coworkers who live in SF, there is a chance next week to meet and hear from this year's mayoral candidates. On June 4 at 5:30pm at the Union Hall on Rhode Island, 1021 is hosting a Mayoral Candidates Town Hall. This is a great chance to hear directly from the candidates, learn more about the Union's endorsement process, and get ready for the election in the fall. This event is open to all members, and RSVP is kindly requested using the link in the flier!

Our first membership meeting of 2024 is this Friday, February 9 from 11 AM to noon in room E1 in the main campus building.

We will have JLMC updates, information about upcoming bargaining meetings with CCA administration, meetings with President Howse, get your feedback and have a membership and COPE check in.
