The San Francisco Homebrewers Guild is your club, a place to share, drink and learn about homebrewing, as well as meet others involved in this radical and rebellious art. Our goal is to encourage the art and craft of homebrewing and to bring local brewers together. We have a network of over 950 local Bay Area beer enthusiasts and homebrewers with 275 dues paying members and going strong. Members r

eceive discounts to local homebrew supply shops, access to beer education classes and events, monthly homebrew shares, fun parties, excursions and more.

Calling all beer geeks!! Come join the San Francisco Homebrewers Guild on September 2 for our monthly “First Wednesdays” gathering. This month we will be showing our support to Fieldwork Brewing’s newest taproom at SF Mission Rock, located at 300 Toni Stone Crossing.

Good turnout for the August meeting. Kudos to Peter for putting together the hop tasting! Of course, the star of the show was the 14 Piwo Grodziskie entries…good luck to all who entered! Thanks also to Chris Lum, President of the Diablo Order of Zymiracle Enthusiasts (DOZE) for joining us!!

Our next outings are First Wednesdays on September 2nd at Fieldwork Brewery by the ballpark and the 7pm September 16th monthly meeting at Barebottle on Cortland. Cheers!

Monthly Meeting Alert! We will be holding our monthly meeting on Wednesday, August 19 beginning at 7:00 PM at Barebottle Brewery on Cortland. The highlight this month is HOPS…we will be conducting a hop tasting of various hop varieties. All beer geeks invited!!

Join us on August 5th for our monthly First Wednesday gathering! This month we will be visiting the San Francisco Brewing Company’s newest location at 100 Hooper Street at 7th Street (the former production facility of Seven Stills).

We had a beautiful day in Golden Gate Park for the SFHG annual picnic. Glad to see so many in attendance! We also had a big turnout for the second club competition of the year, with 13 entries! Cheers to the winners of the Bring Your Best competition, judged through a people’s choice method: Brad and Denis tied for first place, George took second, and John came in third place. Thanks to all attendees fora great event!

Join us on Saturday, July 25, 2026 for the annual SFHG summer picnic. We will be gathering at 11:00 am at Marx Meadow in Golden Gate Park. Please bring a dish to share; hotdogs, hamburgers, and veggie options will be provided by the club. This is also the “Bring Your Best” beer competition (for members in good standing) —these beers will be judged by People’s Choice. We look forward to seeing everyone!! Cheers!
