The mission of the Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association (HVNA) is to promote a sense of friendly association and community involvement throughout Hayes Valley; preserve and reinforce our neighborhood’s cultural and economic diversity, historic character, beauty and architecture; and insure our community’s constructive participation in San Francisco’s governmental process. You are invited to join us for our next general meeting. HVNA meetings are productive and informative focusing on issues such as public safety, transportation & planning, beautification, and small business. We usually meet the fourth Thursday of the Month at 7pm. We will start meeting at the Hayes Valley Playground Clubhouse at Buchanan and Hayes St.

Get ready for a day of wonder at the Hayes Valley Carnival on Saturday, July 18th 2026, from Noon to 4pm—a free, all-ages celebration packed with high-flying performances by Circus Bella at 1pm & 3pm, thrilling games, and mouthwatering eats from local restaurants and vendors!

This beloved community event is made possible thanks to the generous support of The Chris Larsen Fund, an advised fund of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, along with contributions from dozens of amazing neighborhood merchants.

Location: The Circus Bella stage is located at PROXY, the vibrant outdoor public space at the intersection of Hayes and Octavia Streets. Games—with prizes generously donated by Fiddlesticks—and other family-friendly activities will be set up throughout the Shared Streets areas on Hayes Street and Patricia’s Green.

Background: Originally launched in 1911 as a symbol of resilience and renewal following the 1906 earthquake, the Hayes Valley Carnival made a triumphant return in 2022—marking a fresh start after the pandemic. Since then, it’s become a beloved summer tradition, drawing thousands to Hayes Valley, the beating heart of San Francisco.

The Show; Circus Bella, accompanied by live music from the Circus Bella All-Star Band, is led by founder, author, director, and ringmaster Abigail Munn. Each year, she collaborates with Hayes Valley’s own Autumn Adamme for costume design, with every piece sewn and sequined by the

We’ll be resuming the Hayes Valley Families Meetups the first Saturday of each month.

This Saturday, we will meet at the Maker Studio event. Please rsvp on their eventbrite and like the flyer if you’ll be attending so we can get enough snacks.
