For decades, the Castro neighborhood of San Francisco has been a symbol of LGBTQ+ activism, joy, and resilience. Home to many of the country’s most influential q***r artists and activists, the Castro helped shape modern LGBTQ+ history, including the election of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay elected official in the U.S., and the creation of the Pride flag. 🏳️🌈
This Pride Month, SFF honors San Francisco's LGBTQ+ history and the ongoing work to ensure LGBTQ+ communities across the Bay Area can live safely, authentically, and with dignity. 🌈
