Why should YOU volunteer at City Hope?

Well, instead of telling you all the great things our community offers to our volunteer community ourselves, we asked our AMAZING volunteers to share what they love about City Hope so you can hear it from them directly!

Thank you SO MUCH to all the volunteers that participated in the making of this video, and tune in for part two next week! ❤️😉

Did you know the Tenderloin is the first legally recognized transgender district in the US?

This neighborhood gained its title thanks to three black trans women activists, Aria Sa'id, Honey Mahogany, and Janetta Johnson, who wanted to preserve the legacy of the q***r community in 2017. This legacy goes all the way back to the Compton Street Riots in 1966, which actually predates the more widely known Stonewall Riots, and the 1920's, when the Tenderloin was known as the "gay ghetto."

Learn more about the rich legacy the q***r community in the Tenderloin gifted us in the link below!
