Mareli first met SOS at a soup kitchen, where we bring our mobile medical care each Thursday. What began as her search for one-time support quickly became something she says she grew to rely on each week, a place where Mareli felt welcomed, cared for, and
treated with genuine kindness by our Nurse Practitioner and team of outreach staff. From
the beginning, Mareli says our team made an effort to greet her by name and create an environment where she felt safe and respected. ✨
Living with the daily challenges of being unhoused often feels isolating, but Mareli says SOS has made her life better simply by consistently showing up, checking in, and taking time to talk with her. She says these small moments of connection have had a lasting
impact on her; she’s grateful not only for the care she has received, but also for the empathy extended by SOS to her partner and pets. 💙✨
Mareli says one of her favorite parts of the week is knowing she’ll see our NP, Mary, and be welcomed by SOS outreach staff who greet her with smiles and treat her with dignity. She says she wants others to know how important our services are for the large community of people living on our City’s streets. She says that to her, SOS is more than healthcare; it is a team of people who truly look out for her and her family, including her pup pictured here, with compassion. 🩺🚐✨
