Happy 18th anniversary Parangal, Congratulations!
Celebrating 18 years of community, connection and heART! To all who have come before, the shoulders we stand on, Culture bearers, dancers, musicians, Artistic and Executive team, board members, collaborators, benefactors, kapwatids and community that keep us going and fuels our work, each and everyone of you and your powers have been instrumental in getting us here and our mission possible. Your intention, rigor, care and commitment have brought us closer in our continuous journey in learning, understanding and presenting the expressions and living heritage of the Philippines. As we look forward to what’s ahead, may we be guided by our ancestors and elders as we continue to aspire to inspire and bridge communities and generations in finding ourselves, purpose and being proud Filipinos of rich culture and traditions wherever we may be. Palin-awa is a Kalinga ritual that calls the spirit back to the community after moments of deep joy or sorrow. This June, it becomes a stage production — for the first time ever in the U.S.

Created in collaboration with the Bawer family of Lubuagan, Kalinga, and performed with Culture Bearer Jenny Bawer Young.

Kalinga Food Tasting - A curated tasting of traditional Kalinga flavors, served as small plates to share

Kalinga Attire Showcase - An attire presentation featuring both traditional garments and newer designs, highlighting the evolution of Kalinga identity

Palin-awa Live Performance - A first-of-its-kind stage production, inspired by the Palin-awa ritual and brought to life through music, movement, and storytelling
