Thank you to the Cytokinetics team for spending the afternoon volunteering with Samaritan House!

Fifty Cytokinetics volunteers came together to support food distribution and essential onsite operations, helping Samaritan House prepare resources for community members and complete important work across the site.

The team brought great energy and was ready to help wherever needed. Their time and effort gave Samaritan House staff additional support to keep services moving and meet the needs of the families and individuals they serve.

We’re grateful to Cytokinetics for continuing to show up for the community through hands-on service.

Welcome Justin Li, a Computer Science major at UC Davis who is joining Coherus Oncology as an Information Technology Intern.

Justin chose Project Onramp to tap into its robust outreach and professional network, aiming to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry experience. This summer, he is most looking forward to immersing himself in a corporate tech workspace, applying his technical skills to real-world challenges, and collaborating with industry professionals to help drive his company's operations forward.

Outside of his technical work, Justin loves staying active on the volleyball court and winding down by playing the guitar.

We are thrilled to see him bring his computational talents into the life sciences sector this summer. Welcome, Justin!

Please join us in welcoming Vanessa Bravo, a BioEngineering major at UC Berkeley who is joining AbbVie as a Cell Culture Development Intern for her very first industry internship.

Vanessa turned to Project Onramp for a clear pathway into the biotech and biopharma spaces. This summer, she is excited to gain hands on experience working with bioreactors and analytical tools, while discovering exactly how lab research scales up into meaningful medical treatments.

When she is out of the lab, Vanessa loves staying active at the gym to decompress. She also enjoys crocheting, catching up on her favorite TV shows, experimenting with new matcha drink recipes, and spending quality time with friends and family.

We are so proud to watch her technical skills and industry knowledge expand over the coming months. Welcome, Vanessa!

Say hello to Mario Portillo, a Computer Science major at Stanford University who is joining Revolution Medicines as an Information Sciences, Digital & AI Enablement Intern for his very first industry internship.

Mario decided to participate in Project Onramp after researching how the program connects students from underrepresented backgrounds with leading industry partners. This summer, he is highly anticipating the professional networking events and is excited to meet amazing professionals working at the intersection of technology and biotech.

When he isn't exploring how tech enables the biological sciences, Mario is an avid volleyball player who competes for the Stanford Men's Volleyball Club. He also loves spending time outdoors and exploring new technological developments.

We are thrilled to see the unique intersection of skills he brings to his internship this summer. Welcome, Mario!
