This past Saturday, we brought together an incredible group of women for our Mental Health Awareness Series session on Women's Mental Health: Managing Stress & Self-Care — and the energy in the (virtual) room was everything. 💚

From understanding where stress shows up in our lives, to the often-overlooked connection between financial wellness and mental health, every conversation felt real, relevant, and necessary. Attendees left with tools they could actually use — and the kind of clarity that only comes from being in community with people who get it.

The feedback said it all:
"Loved the session. All points — especially self-care and the financial aspect — resonated so much."

"It was very insightful. Enjoyed the discussion."

This is exactly why we do this work. Breaking stigma isn't a one-time moment — it's built one honest conversation at a time. Thank you to every woman who showed up, shared, and stayed open. You made this space what it was.

More sessions coming. Stay connected. 🌿✨

Mission NxtGen is hosting another great workshop on mental health, focused on the experience of East Bay parents with teens. We know that academic pressure, pace of life, and difficulty connecting together can be difficult. How can we better understand emotional wellbeing in our environment? And what strategies can we learn about that might better support our families?

Join us at 11am on Sunday July 20th for this online workshop. Email [email protected] with expressed interest in attending online and we’ll send you the Zoom link to join in. We hope that this workshop can help support you in your emotional well being. We’d love for you to encourage a parent-friend to attend who may be wanting to learn about this topic as well.

In the workplace as an entrepreneur, many skills are required. Intelligence is often thought of as IQ - how smart a person is.

Emotional intelligence at work is incredibly valuable as well. Some would argue even more so. Having a sense of self-awareness, reading what others are feeling, and taking another’s perspective are just a few of the ways EQ shows up, adding to one’s IQ.

Mission NxtGen exists to help individuals live more fulfilling lives with a mindset of wholeness and health mentally. Join us for this important workshop in-person in Pleasanton where we’ll discuss the impact of growing in emotional intelligence. Email [email protected] to sign up or for more details.

Most of us love to talk. We love to and long to be heard. But how are we at listening to our loved ones around us?

Milan and Kay Yerkovich - authors of the book “How We Love” - offer four great steps to listening well. They even say that “listening is the harder role” in a relationship with someone.

(Post quotes adapted from pg. 284 of “How We Love” by Milan and Kay Yerkovich.)

At Mission NxtGen, these skills can be used in many different relationships - with a parent, with a son or daughter, with a partner, or with a friend.

What are some qualities that you have found to be true in a good listener?

Pinky Mukherjee is doing fantastic community work around mental health in the Tri-Valley community. It was awesome seeing her hard work recognized in the business connection newsletter.

From providing online workshops around parenting, forming partnerships with local MFT’s and psychologists, and raising awareness around issues of prevention, it is amazing to see the ways she is helping to make a positive impact in the local community.

If you are interested in partnering with Mission NxtGen, you can email Pinky Mukherjee at [email protected]. For more info, check out: https://missionnxtgen.com

Have you ever wondered about the connections between your mind, past experiences and your body?

Caring about your mental health is not ALL mental. Sometimes, as Bessel Van Der Kolk has said - ‘our bodies keep the score’, so to speak.

Here are a few ways trauma can show up in the body:

Muscle Tension: Ever feel like your shoulders are constantly tight? Trauma can cause chronic muscle tension, especially in the neck, back, and jaw.

Digestive Issues: Stressful experiences can mess with your gut, leading to stomachaches, nausea, or even IBS. Your gut and brain are more connected than you think!

Fatigue: Trauma can drain your energy, leaving you feeling tired all the time—even after a full night’s sleep.

Headaches: Persistent headaches or migraines? Trauma might be the culprit, especially if they flare up in stressful situations.

Breathing Issues: Shallow breathing or shortness of breath can be a sign that your body is holding onto stress or anxiety from past trauma.

Taking care of your body is key to healing. Recognize the signs and show yourself some love. 💚Don’t be afraid to reach out for support.

Recently Pinky Mukherjee, the founder of Mission NxtGen, was invited to speak in a impactful event about aging for the seniors at the Rotary Club in the SF Bay Area. She was joined by therapist Simi Markar. They explored the connections between mental health and aging.

It always feels good to continue raising awareness in the community and building positive relationships.
