'Residents for a Better San Fernando' is the story of how community people can make a positive difference for everyone. We are regular people who love our hometown of San Fernando, California. We have our homes, our families, our friends and our future in our small, historic town and believe that our community deserves the best. HISTORY
We started when two residents said hello to each other while
walking on South Brand Blvd. then began discussing the City's proposal to build 101-apartment units at the JC Penney building. Those two residents invited a couple of others to meet and within a few weeks several residents were organizing against the 101 apartment units at the former JC Penney building. Over 600 residents signed a petition within a few days against the 101-apartment units at the JC Penney building. Despite this being the project most heavily opposed by the community in recent history, the super-majority of the City Council ignored the community's strong opposition and voted for the project. MISSION
After the City Council voted against the desires of the community, we became more determined to informing the community about the major issues that can impact our quality of life and to holding the City Council and staff accountable to the desires of the community. GET INVOLVED
