💧For years, Patsy Schultz’s family ranch in Johnson County, Texas, operated under the belief that sewage sludge approved for use as fertilizer was safe.

Now, Schultz and other farm families are suing the federal government, alleging PFAS “forever chemicals” from that sludge contaminated their land, water, livestock, and livelihoods.

According to the lawsuit, the same government agencies responsible for protecting farmers encouraged the use of these biosolids for decades.

The question remains — how many other farms across America may be facing the same problem and don’t know it yet?
