What a fabulous turnout for our first beach cleanup of the year! We had 44 volunteers!!!! Despite early morning rain, the sun came out for a beautiful day. Then we enjoyed brunch at Sandbar.

Thank you everyone who cleaned up our one particular harbor. Next one will be coming this summer. Details to come.

And once again, thank you Dixieline El Cajon for the cleanup supplies. It's the donation that keeps on giving. :)

Here is the flyer for a special kind of concert.
Kirk Lane has been playing in the So. Cal. areas for many years. Whipping up the crowds to both his brand of music, and good Ol' classic Rock and Rock.

He has a stage presence that encourages more than just listening, but also gets people participating. SIng, dance, laugh and enjoy yourself watching Kirk on May 2nd, under the great big Oak Tree.

Bob Clark - President Emeritus SDPHC & Beloved Friend

Bob Clark succumbed to fight with cancer on January 18, 2026. Bob was a cherished friend, dedicated leader, and tireless volunteer whose impact on the San Diego community will be felt for generations. A proud member of the San Diego Parrot Head Club (SDPHC) for 30 years and its president for an extraordinary 27 years, Bob devoted countless hours to service, fellowship, and philanthropy.

Through his leadership, SDPHC supported numerous San Diego charities, raising funds and giving time to causes including beach cleanups, food banks, blood drives, and water stations. Bob was instrumental in organizing many of the club’s signature events, including the Anniversary Party, Charity Dinner, and Pub Crawl, and he fostered lasting partnerships with trop rock bands. He was a familiar and beloved presence at Meeting of the Minds, where his passion for the Parrot Head community shone brightly.

Bob’s commitment to service extended well beyond SDPHC. He was an active member of OMBAC (Old Mission Beach Athletic Club) and the San Diego Mission Bay Boat and Ski Club, and he brought the same steady, mild-mannered leadership to his role as Union President for the National Treasury & Employees Union (NTEU) for over 20 years. He dedicated 38 years of service to the U.S. Customs Service.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sharon Clark; his son, Randall Clark; and his two stepsons, Tim and Sean Adams. Details regarding services and celebrations of life will be shared at a later time.

Bob’s generosity, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to others will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

2025 OMBAC/SDPHC Veteran’s Day Blood Drive
Sunday, November 16, 2025
8 AM to 2 PM
Belmont Park, Mission Beach
North Parking lot - off Ventura Place

Can I donate if I’ve recently donated?
* Must have donated whole blood by Sept 17, 2025
* Must donate platelets by Nov 6, 2025

OMBAC’s Road Kill Café will provide food and beverages for donors. We will have live music and drink specials at a local beach bar. While our budget does not allow for new shirts in 2025, donors will receive either a 2023 or 2024 t-shirt.

Please remember that OMBAC has an account with the San Diego Blood Bank. To help reach our goal of 100 Pints, those who cannot donate blood on November 16 can donate at a donor center, or another blood drive, just mention the code MBAC for OMBAC to get credit for your donation (before or after this drive, depending on when you are eligible).
If you donate offsite please let Bob & Sharon Clark know: [email protected]

SDPHC volunteers handle the registration and check-in process for this Blood Drive. We will need volunteers to help with set up, breakdown, registering donors, etc. We start setting up at 7 AM. We are finished tearing down by 3 PM. Please email [email protected] if you can help, even an hour or two makes a difference. It’s always a fun, rewarding and beautiful day with the ocean in sight. This is a great opportunity to do community service twofold and take a walk on the boardwalk!

We raised 60+ Pints at the 2024 OMBlood Drive but we would like to beat that by fulfilling our 100 Pint goal. Please schedule an appointment today (link above). We have also participated and assisted San Diego Mission Bay Boat & Ski Club with their 3 Blood Drives in 2025, raising an average of 30 pints per Drive. We continue to be thankful to anyone who can donate.

Together, We Save Lives,

Bob Clark
OMBlood Chairman
