Our third and final Tiwahe Lodge Induction Weekend of 2026 is coming up, and we need your help to make it a success!

We especially need CEREMONY TEAM members!
Our candidates deserve a meaningful and memorable induction experience, and the Ceremony Team is a critical part of making that happen.

If you are already on a Ceremony Team, please sign up and commit to the weekend. If you have participated in ceremonies before—or have always wanted to get involved—now is the time to step forward.

We need members for:
• Pre-Ordeal Ceremony
• Ordeal Ceremony
• Brotherhood Ceremony
• Ceremony support and setup

We also need ELANGOMATS!
Being an Elangomat is one of the most important ways you can serve our candidates. You will spend the weekend with them, help guide them through their Ordeal experience, and serve as an example of what it means to live the Obligation.

If you have served as an Elangomat before, we need you again! If you have never done it, consider stepping up and giving it a try. You'll be making a difference in the experience of a new Arrowman and helping strengthen our lodge.

Don't just attend—serve!

All Arrowmen are encouraged to attend, but we especially need those willing to take an active role in the induction process.

Our candidates have been elected because their units believe they have something special to contribute. Let's make sure their first experience with Tiwahe Lodge reflects the best of what the Order of the Arrow has to offer.

Order of the Arrow Unit Elections Are Underway

It is that time of year again when the Order of the Arrow is conducting unit elections. Elections will be held now through mid-April, and units should have already received an email with instructions to schedule their election.

If you have not yet scheduled your election or have any questions about the process, please feel free to contact us at [email protected]. Our elections team is happy to assist and ensure the process is smooth and convenient for your unit.

Membership in the Order of the Arrow provides older youth in your unit with additional leadership, service, and personal growth opportunities. The OA is not here to take youth away from their units, but rather to enhance the Scouting experience and help fulfill the OA’s mission: “To be why Scouts want to stay in Scouting.”

Unit leaders should have received an e-mail to schedule an election.

Once each year, a troop, crew, or ship, may hold a unit election to elect youth members of their troop, crew, or ship to become members of the Order of the Arrow.

Tiwahe Lodge is currently scheduling elections until April 15, 2025. The OA elections must be completed by a trained Chapter election team with support of unit Arrowmen, the OA Unit Representative, and the unit leader. To request an OA Election for your troop, contact your Chapter Chief or Adviser (https://www.sdicscouting.org/programs/order-of-the-arrow/chapters).

Both youth and adult Scouts and Scouters can become members of the OA, but only youth members are elected. Assistant Scoutmasters under the age of 21 are considered youth members for OA purposes. New members are voted on by every youth member of the unit present at the election - not just the OA members.
