What started as a faith journey of Amor’s founders Gayla and Scott, has turned in to a global ministry with a vision shared by many. Gayla and Scott founded Amor Ministries in 1980 to address the housing needs that were keeping families apart. The first homes were built alongside families in the Tijuana dump who were sending their children to orphanages because they couldn’t provide for them. Thes

e families were desperate to stay together, but resources kept that from being possible. After learning about this, Amor’s Founders decided to do something about it. Today Amor is active in communities throughout Mexico, South Africa, and beyond. Amor Ministries does more than just make life easier for a family in need, we open hearts to truly see the grace and love of Jesus by providing security, safety, and stability. Through the time and energy of our volunteers, Amor has kept over 18,000 families together.

Each month, our pastors receive food bags from our Food Bank program to distribute to the communities they serve in Mexico! These food bags can help feed a family for an entire week, providing practical support during challenging times.

Through the generosity of our donors, families are receiving more than just food — they're receiving encouragement, hope, and the reminder that they are deeply cared for.

Thanks to each of our Amor 3 Day participants, 3 families received the gift of a safe place to call home this past weekend! ❤️

The gratitude and joy each family shared reminded us that a house is so much more than four walls and a roof, it’s hope, security, and a new beginning.

A few weeks ago was our Women of Strength trip, where we had the privilege of serving in South Africa alongside 35 incredible women!

Together we built a home, shared in worship and devotion, grew through fellowship, and had the opportunity to serve and encourage the local community, including preparing pad kits for over 500 young women.

Every prayer, every nail, every conversation, and every act of service is a reminder that God uses ordinary moments for His eternal impact.

To every woman who said yes to this trip, thank you! Your willingness to serve made a lasting difference, and we know God worked through each one of you to bless this community.

We always cherish our time in the field alongside our amazing groups. It’s a true gift to build meaningful relationships with each participant and the families we serve in Mexico!

Last week we celebrated 4 beautiful house dedications, each one a powerful reminder of hope, love, and community. Every group was a blessing, and witnessing the family’s reactions was simply priceless.

Last week, we had the privilege of welcoming a mission team from a local church in Tijuana! They dedicated four days of their week, giving their time, hard work, and hearts to serve by building a home alongside Familia Habana Zarazúa.
