Kehillah – We acknowledge and celebrate our diverse Jewish community, seek partnerships with our grantees and encourage collaborations to leverage strengths among granting organizations. B’tzelem Elohim – We view every individual in God’s image, demanding respect for, compassion towards and inclusion of different perspectives, generations, denominations, and cultures. Gender Equity – We support equal rights, representation and opportunities for those who identify as women and girls. Empowerment and Agency – We give women and girls the power to grow and take control over their own lives through education, access, mentoring, and advocacy. Innovation and Creativity – We encourage taking informed risks, trying new ideas, and getting out of our comfort zone. WHAT WE DO:
Grants: Every 3 years JWF funds organizations/programs that support Jewish women and girls. We fund with a “gender lens” and a “Jewish lens,” recognizing that Jewish women and girls have unique needs both because of their gender and their religious and cultural heritage. Educational Programs: We create awareness of issues and needs facing Jewish women and girls through informal gatherings throughout the year and our signature event “Let’s Talk About It.” The annual event is a panel discussion of experts and community members discussing timely women’s issues. We focus on topics that may be difficult to discuss and present them in a safe, non-judgmental, confidential forum where the audience can feel comfortable asking questions and sharing experiences. Past topics have included LGBTQ+ Awareness, Substance Abuse, and Women’s Reproductive Issues. Hands-on experiences: JWF members interact with our grantee partners through hands on activities throughout the year.
