We understand the importance of creating intentional time for families to connect. Our FREE Family Horse Program offers foster, adoptive, and kinship families the opportunity to do just that while interacting hands-on with horses.

Horses have a unique ability to help calm the nervous system, encourage confidence, and create an environment where connection can naturally grow. Whether you're brushing, leading, or simply spending time alongside them, every experience is an opportunity to strengthen family bonds.

We are excited about the Connect Groups being offered this fall! Best of all, every group is FREE for foster, adoptive, and kinship families. 💙

👩‍👧 Adoptive Mom's Group: Connect with other adoptive moms as you navigate the lifelong adoption journey, including trauma, healing, identity, and relationships with family of origin.

🤱 Single Foster/Adoptive Mom's Group: A supportive space for single moms to connect, share experiences, and learn practical parenting strategies together. Childcare provided.

🧠 Raising Kids with Big Baffling Behaviors: Learn practical, brain-based parenting tools inspired by Robyn Gobbel's Raising Kids with Big, Baffling Behaviors in a safe and supportive environment.

👨 Men's Meet-Up: Connect with other men navigating the foster, adoptive, kinship, and guardianship journey.

💙 Special Needs Parenting: Find encouragement, support, and connection with parents who understand the unique challenges of raising a child with disabilities or additional needs.

Fall Program Launch!!

We are PUMPED about the programs being offered this fall! Best of all, every program is FREE for foster, adoptive, and kinship families. All abilities are welcomed.💙

🐴 Family Horse Program: Four separate sessions designed to help families connect while spending time with horses.

🎵 Family Story Songwriting: Work with a licensed music therapist to share your family's adoption story, write it together, and leave with a song that's uniquely yours.

🎶 Family Music Classes: Explore music together through hands-on experiences, instruments, and play.

🎨 Art That Connects: Create meaningful art projects while learning sensory regulation techniques. In the final class, participants will make their own weighted blanket and weighted stuffed animal.

👩‍🍳 Kitchen Playdate: Learn new cooking skills, prepare a delicious recipe together, and enjoy the fun of creating your own dish.

🌱 Plant, Grow & Play: Plant your own fruits, vegetables, or herbs, then learn how to use similar fresh ingredients to cook a meal together.

🥣 Make & Take: Create a fun, family-friendly recipe together, then take it home to enjoy.

📚 IEPs don’t have to be overwhelming—we’re here to help!

Steadfast Foster, Adoptive & Kinship Support and the Grossmont FAKCE Program are partnering to offer a FREE 12-month IEP training series for foster, adoptive, and kinship families.

Made possible in part by a generous grant from Ability Central, these monthly trainings will cover IEPs, 504 Plans, evaluations, advocacy, behavior supports, and more. Sessions are available in English and Spanish.

We hope you’ll join us as we learn together and empower families to advocate for their children.

Horse Summer Camp is Here!

At Steadfast Foster and Adoptive Support, we believe in supporting the whole family. That's why our Horse Summer Camp is open to all children living in foster, adoptive, and kinship families—including biological, adopted, foster, and kinship siblings. Because every child in the home deserves the opportunity to connect, grow, and make memories together. 💙

This camp is designed to build confidence, strengthen family bonds, and create an unforgettable experience with horses.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Ability Central, Foundation for Developmental Disabilities, and Poway Community Foundation we're able to offer camp at a reduced rate.

🐎 Poway foster, adoptive, and kinship families: **FREE** for all children in the home.
🐎 San Diego Foster, adoptive, and kinship families outside of Poway: $250 per child.

Join our free Zoom educational support group based on Robyn Gobbel’s parenting course Raising Kids with Big Baffling Behaviors.

If you’re parenting, fostering, or supporting a child whose behaviors feel confusing, intense, or just plain exhausting, you’re not alone.
