We are a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization. It is the vision of SOAR II Greatness, Inc to reach out to women, children, youth and teens who are: forgotten, underestimated, poor, overlooked and lost. SOAR II Greatness, Inc will stand [as support with these families and individuals] as Edification and Encouragement to Establish and Empower them to live and sustain a life of self-sufficiency; fully Equipped to SOAR II GREATNESS!
Received as a dream in 2005, by LaQueta Rena Fountain, SOAR II Greatness (Support to Overcome, Achieve and Rebuild to Greatness) (S2G) was birthed out of the pain and struggles that I faced when my three daughters and I became homeless. My story is probably no different from any other single-parent homeless family. I worked a minimum wage job and still lived under the poverty line, I was the working poor. One day I lost my job, within two months my daughters and I were homeless and for the next eight months we became chronically homeless, moving from house to house until one night, in November of 2004, at 8pm, the people we were staying with decided they wanted us out. No money, no transportation, and nowhere to go I called the Salvation Army to see if we could get a ‘cot’ for the night. They had room for a family and we stayed the night on the floor in the dining hall. I covered two of my daughters with bath towels (that I had packed in a backpack) and the other with my jacket. The one-night stay at the Salvation Army became an acceptance into the Family Center Program (a dorm-type room for six months), I became gainfully employed, and in January 2005, I returned to school. We were one of the lucky families. This was twelve years ago. Today, I have obtained 3 degrees: BBA Marketing (2010), MA Human Services Counseling (2014), MDiv (2014), and I am currently pursuing my Doctorate of Strategic Leadership—all because there was a program, and people, in place when I needed it and I took the assistance as a hand-up to pursue self-sustainability. I would never take the credit for all that I have accomplished. My faith and those 'Real-life Angels' who were put in place to help and guide me along my way were paramount to me recognizing and pursuing my Greatness! This is why I founded SOAR II Greatness, Inc.; to be a vessel of Support to women and families as they Overcome, Achieve, and Rebuild their brokenness into Greatness! is my heart and breath given out into the world. I would like to offer support to other women as they overcome life’s obstacles (single parenting, homelessness, survivors of family and domestic violence, [all of which were obstacles that I faced]) and/or divorce as they reclaim their futures and rebuild themselves into the pinnacle of stability and self-sustainability.
