💖 MAKE A DIFFERENCE! 💖

It may be only 8 days left in Trans History Month, but the impact of supporting trans history, education, and community-centered care must continue year-round.
As Trans History Month comes to a close, take the time to invest in education, community, and the realities of trans, non binary, and non cis people.

Today, we’re spotlighting one of the incredible presenters joining us for the Do Something: Identity(ies) Conference 2026!

✨ Dr. L. K. Winley (name only) ✨

Dr. Winley is a psychologist and creator of Growth-Promoting Conversations™ (GPC™), a framework that centers identity, nervous-system safety, and dignity in communication. They are also the founder of WaterYourFire Wellness Collective, where clinical practice, systems awareness, and lived experiences come together to support more sustainable and affirming ways of relating.

At DSI 2026, Dr. Winley will present:

💬 Beyond “Just Communicate Better”: Identity, Power, and Nervous-System Safety

Participants will explore how masking, power, and inequities shape communication—and how common communication strategies can reinforce harm. Using GPC™, this workshop offers tools to center dignity, consent, and more authentic, sustainable connection.

Representation matters—and so does understanding the histories that often go untold.

This week, we’re excited to introduce Olivia Patricia Montoya (she/they), who will be presenting:

“What’s Q***r About Zines and As*xuality? A Personal and Political Exploration.”

Drawing from both lived experience and independent historical research, Olivia explores how as*xuality has been represented (and overlooked) in q***r DIY print media from the 1950s through today. Their presentation examines the importance of representation, community archives, and the impact that inclusion—or the lack thereof—has on lesser-known identities within LGBTQIA+ spaces.

Olivia is a q***r, nonbinary, biromantic, arospec as*xual creative, game designer, and DIY archivist/activist from Connecticut. Their work documenting as*xual history and creating community spaces offers a unique and meaningful perspective on identity, history, and belonging.

Friendly reminder, If you are not masking indoors and ESPECIALLY in medical facilities/pharmacies/groceries stores and more, than you are directly engaging in ableism and contributing to higher death rates, removing access for many folx and engaging in systematic oppression.

Before you share and/or make posts about Happy Disability month, remember, most of us are not happy. Not because we are disabled and/or because of our disability but because you are are actively contributing to a world that makes it unsafe, unaccessible and sh*tty for the rest of us.

Do better.

If you want to learn ways to show up to create a safer world for all of us and engage in disability justice, comment and I will share more.
