Enjoyed hearing from the NJROTC students from our local Canyon Hills High School. It is inspiring to hear that so many are applying for the academies and College ROTC programs. Hani Shatila will be our next KOD. This was our outgoing president Norm Ryan’s last meeting as president. He turns over the reigns on September 24.

We thank our crew that put up and took down the flags on Labor Day. Is everyone noticing all the new flags on Santo Road in Murphy Canyon?

Joey Landwehr, theatre guru, and artistic director for Broadway San Diego gave us a rundown on the 2026/27 season with a wonderful preview of the shows coming to San Diego’s Civic theatre. He also discussed how they support youth theatre programs and encouraged our support of these programs. We had lots of phantoms of the opera at the meeting. Mike George thanked all the members of the club that helped put the flags up on Labor Day. Everyone is looking forward to our installation dinner on September 24. Clint Messerschmidt will be next weeks Kiwanian of the Day.
