The Harbor Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution cordially invites the public to attend a special America 250 Plaque Dedication Ceremony recognizing Spain’s indispensable contributions to the fight for American independence.
This program also reflects the SAR’s commitment to honoring Patriot Ancestors of Spanish descent, some of whom are buried here in California and whose service formed part of the broader international alliance that helped secure American independence.
Program Highlights Include:
• America 250 Plaque Dedication Ceremony
• Ceremonial Revolutionary War & Spanish Color Guard Musket Salute
• Living History Presentation Portraying Bernardo de Gálvez
• Special Participation by Gerardo Fueyo Bros, Consul General of Spain
• Historical Recognition of Spain’s Role in Securing American Independence
• Historic Spanish Colonial-Era Setting at the Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum
Spain’s military aid, financing, and Gulf Coast campaigns under Bernardo de Gálvez helped weaken British operations and contributed directly to the success of the American Revolution.
Families, educators, veterans, students, history enthusiasts, SAR, DAR, and CAR members are all encouraged to attend.
