That is the power of our Coalition: WE identified staffing as a priority, WE helped build the process, and WE drove this work forward in every region, facility, and department.

Joint Staffing gives frontline workers and managers a way to identify what our departments need to prevent burnout, support our teams, and deliver the care our patients deserve. It's a process we didn't have before our 2023 National Agreement.

Now, Kaiser has a clear picture of what teams need and a shared responsibility, through the Partnership, to act on it.

Joint Staffing isn't busy work. Too many of our staffing needs went unanswered last year. But this process gives us the foundation to keep advocating, track progress, and bring frontline staffing needs into future conversations—including 2027 bargaining. Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions
