The 2026 Great Lakes Challenge is officially underway!

The week got started Saturday night with a special side-by-side ride alongside local veteran farmers and today our veterans and first responders officially hit the road.

After kicking things off at the Capitol, the peloton spent the day riding through beautiful Minnesota, sharing miles, stories and plenty of time getting to know the people they’ll be spending this week with.

And the community support along the way has already been incredible, from the St. Thomas cadets and Prairie Island Tribal Council to the Elks Lodge in Red Wing. The encouragement, hospitality and welcome from each community make these miles even more meaningful.

It’s only Day 1 and there’s already so much to be grateful for. Six days, two states, countless miles and one incredible group.

As riders travel through the beautiful rural communities of Minnesota & Wisconsin, we'll celebrate the hardworking veteran farmers whose dedication helps feed our nation. This updated jersey salutes the landscapes and people that make the Great Lakes Challenge such a unique experience.

The Great Lakes Challenge isn't just about the miles we ride, it's about connecting with the communities that welcome and support us along the way.

Happy 251st Birthday to the United States Army! 🇺🇸

Today, we honor the men and women who have proudly served in our nation's oldest military branch since June 14, 1775. For more than two centuries, Army Soldiers have answered the call to defend our freedoms, protect our nation and uphold a legacy of courage, sacrifice and service.

At Project Hero, we are especially grateful for the countless Army Veterans who continue to inspire us through their resilience and commitment to recovery, rehabilitation and community. Your service does not end when the uniform comes off and we are honored to ride alongside you on your journey. We cannot wait to ride with you soon!

Please join us in wishing the U.S. Army a very Happy Birthday and thanking all Soldiers, past and present, for their dedication to our country.

Today, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering determination of the heroes of D-Day. On June 6, 1944, thousands of Allied service members stormed the beaches of Normandy, changing the course of history and defending the cause of freedom.

As we remember their extraordinary bravery, Project Hero proudly pays tribute to the men and women whose service and sacrifice continue to inspire generations. Their legacy reminds us that courage is not the absence of fear, it is the commitment to act despite it.

We remember. We honor. We carry their legacy forward.
