In 2019, The Tree Tracker platform was updated to Plan-It Geo's Tree Plotter software. This will allow us to expand our usage among our partner organizations as well as eventually open up the project to the public, restoring the intent of the original San Diego tree map effort!

Tree San Diego has partnered with the Balboa Park Conservancy and Calfire to greatly enhance our mapping capabilities. The new San Diego Tree Tracker uses technology from Plan-It Geo. We are rolling out our new mapping capabilities to better take care of our trees across the county. You can see the new map at www.sandiegotreetracker.org.🌳

Nothing simpler than mulching the soil to reduce evaporation, improve tilth, and look nice. Even better is to allow the tree to do it naturally. The leaves usually know where to fall.

Thanks to our Texas A&M friends for this great graphic on MULCHING TREES. Trees do not need need mulching that goes vertical (up), they prefer mulch that goes horizontal (out). 3-4 inches of mulch is the recommended depth. Keep mulch off the trunk. No mulch volcanoes! THANKS!
