Our hearts are heavy today as we process the devastating tragedy that occurred outside the Sem Yeto High School graduation ceremony in Fairfield, CA. Graduation represents years of dedication, hope, and community celebration, it should never be a place of fear or violence.
We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims, the students, and the entire community shaken by this event.

4 years ago, families in Uvalde sent their children to school… and some never came home.
I refused to sit with my arms crossed while communities continue suffering from tragedies like this.
I know parents are busy, but we cannot wait for someone else to protect our children’s schools.
Our children are calling for help.
As parents, we must answer with action.
Hope alone is not enough.
Preparation matters.
School safety requires involvement.
When parents actively participate in school safety, we can help reduce the chances of tragedy in our schools.
For the children we lost.
For the children we can still protect.

We are mourning the lives lost at the Islamic Center of San Diego, but we are incredibly grateful for heroes like Amin Abdullah, Mansour Kaziha, and Nadir Awad, who ran toward danger to put the school into lockdown and protect the children. School safety and community vigilance matter now more than ever. 🕊️

May 7, 2019 — we remember.
Today we honor Kendrick Castillo, a true hero.In a moment of unimaginable fear at the STEM School Highlands Ranch shooting, Kendrick chose courage. He rushed toward danger to stop a gunman—an act that gave others precious seconds to hide, escape, and live.
Because of him, lives were saved.
We remember not only his bravery, but his kindness, his future, and the love he gave to those around him.
At School Safety Institution, we extend our deepest respect and condolences to Kendrick’s parents and family. Your son’s courage will never be forgotten.
We also hold in our hearts the students who were injured and everyone affected that day. Your strength continues to inspire.
Kendrick Castillo is, and always will be, a hero. 🕊️
