A huge thank you to Dr. Mark Ryan for organizing this year’s Ancient Order of Hibernians Tailgate Party fundraiser at the legendary Yale–Harvard Game! Thanks to his leadership—and the incredible generosity of our Hibernian community—the event raised over $2,000 in support of the 2026 Greater Bridgeport St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Congratulations to on the big win, and heartfelt thanks to everyone who came out, contributed, and celebrated together. We were proud to have Grand Marshal Tom Keane, Parade Chair Liz Gilbert DeFeo, and many committee members and Hibernians in attendance.

A perfect Bridgeport moment. The Gaelic American Club Pipe and Drum Band made a powerful entrance as they marched into the Barnum Festival celebration to welcome the 2026 Ringmaster, Tom McCarthy. Their music filled the room with tradition, pride, and unmistakable Irish spirit, setting the tone for an evening honoring a true community leader. A great start to the festivities and a wonderful salute to Ringmaster McCarthy. ☘️🎶

What a great night for St. Patrick's Day Parade of Greater Bridgeport, CT Member Committee! We were proud to join our 2026 Grand Marshal Tom Keane alongside our Chairperson Liz Gilbert DeFeo at the welcome party for the 2026 Barnum Festival Ringmaster Tom McCarthy.

Tom is also a past Grand Marshal of our own St. Patrick’s Day Parade, making the celebration even more meaningful. A terrific evening of community pride and Bridgeport tradition. ☘️

Happy, Happy Birthday to our 1997 Grand Marshal Cathy Austin and Maura O'Malley! Cathy started the Parade Committee back in 1982 and both have been volunteering for decades. Maura recently was the Chairperson of the Half Way to St. Patrick's Day Party at the GAC!

It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of our dear friend, Dave Curtin.

Dave was the 2018 Grand Marshal of the Greater Bridgeport St. Patrick’s Day Parade and an integral member of the Parade Committee for more than a decade. His leadership, generosity, and unwavering dedication helped shape our parade and strengthen our community.

Dave was especially passionate about raising funds for our Mr. & Miss Shamrock Scholarship Program, reflecting his deep commitment to the education of young Irish Americans and his understanding of the financial challenges families face in providing that education. He was responsible for raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for this program through golf tournaments, establishing a strong foundation for its future.

As we celebrate Dave’s life, we also mourn the tremendous loss felt by all who knew him. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his entire family, especially his beloved partner, wife, and best friend, Ann Marie Curtin.

May his spirit of kindness and community live on in the generations he inspired. ☘️
