Last evening members of our Greater Bridgeport St.Patrick’s Day Parade Committee gathered together to put the final touches on the annual Half Way to St. Patrick’s Day Celebration on Sunday Sept 20th at the Gaelic American Club from 3:00-6:00. There is still time to join in on the fun and honor our 2027 Grand Marshal Mark Smith. Kudos to Mary Donnelly and Colleen Sargent Murphy for chairing this fun filled event complete with fine food , lively entertainment and good friends. Hope to see you there ! It has been a busy summer for the Greater Bridgeport St. Patrick’s Day Celebration Committee, and I’m pleased to share some exciting updates as we look ahead to another great year.

Over the summer, our Committee met and, with the help of Parade founder Cathy Brannelly Austin, reviewed our bylaws and made additions to our organizational structure. I’m pleased to announce that we now officially have a Board of Directors, comprised of Colleen Sargent Murphy, Mary Anne Doonan, Jack Murphy, Mary Donnelly, and Cathy Brannelly Austin. I am very grateful to each of them for their willingness to serve and help guide the Committee.

We also recently held our elections, and I’m honored to have been reelected Chairperson. Maura O’Malley was elected our new Treasurer, joining Ellen Griffith, Recording Secretary, and Eileen Callahan, Financial Secretary. I’m grateful to all of them for their service and look forward to working together with our 2027 Grand Marshal, Mark Smith, to make the coming year another spectacular one for our celebration.
