Maria lives in Carabayllo, an impoverished desert community outside of Lima, Peru (pictured). She participates in the women's entrepreneurship program at the Children's Care Center. Her 9-year-old daughter Diana has attended the CCC for Bible lessons, academic support, and meals since 2021. The CCC staff have been spending intentional time at Maria's home, sharing the gospel and ministering to her needs.

Maria lives with her husband, but his alcohol use has caused strife and financial difficulties for their family, and Maria is concerned for the example this is to her daughters. She wants to keep her family together and earnestly hopes for a bright future for the girls. She shares that Diana is responsible in school and enjoys learning about God at the CCC. She expresses gratitude for the staff's visits where they share Scripture with her, and we pray that Maria and other such women would be saved by the gospel and equipped both practically and spiritually at the CCC.

The 2025 impact report is here! The Lord allowed over a thousand vulnerable women and children to hear the good news of salvation and receive support for pressing needs. Your prayers, giving, and volunteering have allowed true hope to be shared across South America.

The Children's Care Center in Argentina partnered with a local church to host a picnic for the teens' discipleship group. A total of 45 teens from the church and the CCC attended. Afterward, leaders from the church expressed their thankfulness to the Su Refugio staff for the teens who grew up at the CCC and now attend their church. Over a dozen youth attend the church regularly, many of whom have been baptized in recent years. Their pastor also shared what a blessing it is to see them take steps of faith, attend church activities, and set an example in their readiness to serve.

The CCC director Chivi tells us, "[I felt pride like that which] a father feels when he sees his children walking in the truth and seeking to grow in their relationship with the Lord, because he knows that this is possible only by the pure GRACE of God and that He is the Author of such a work." We join Chivi in rejoicing over God's grace in these teens, and we trust that He will continue using them to shine His light in Rafaela!

Over the last few weeks, Tri-City Bible Church (Vista, CA) and Grace Preparatory School (Stafford, VA) wrote letters and cards to be delivered to the children of Su Refugio. So far, the children who received their letters have been thrilled and the staff are encouraged by the prayers and support of fellow believers in the United States. Thank you to all who shared Christ's love in this way!

As Su Refugio meets pressing needs for shelter, food, and education among the vulnerable (James 1:27), we recognize that every person's eternal destiny is of utmost importance. Your partnership is making kingdom impact:

🇵🇾 We’ve seen the fruit of the gospel in Paraguay as girls from the Children’s Home have been saved and baptized in recent months. One teenager describes experiencing a joy she has never known before, as well as a feeling of freedom from the heavy burden of sin. Pray that these girls would grow in their faith!

🇦🇷 Seeds of faith are taking root in Argentina as young children are teaching their families to pray and teenagers like Rubén (14) are finding belonging and purpose in the teens' discipleship group. About 50-70 children come to the CCC every weekend excited to learn about Jesus. We thank God for the endurance of our local staff and volunteers as they share Christ and His love week after week, nurturing the children and teens and pointing them to our Savior.

🇵🇪 Local staff in Peru have launched a more robust system for tracking spiritual activities (such as evangelism, discipleship, prayer meetings, and Bible studies) with the children and mothers served at the CCCs. They are celebrating God’s transformative work and striving to faithfully steward the opportunities God provides for gospel witness.

Last month, many of Su Refugio’s leaders from Paraguay, Peru, Argentina, and the US gathered in Tobatí, Paraguay for a strategic planning retreat. This time away from the everyday needs of their own programs allowed the leaders to focus on the big-picture vision of Su Refugio for 2026.

Training sessions were led by US Board Member Todd Guckenberger, who is fluent in Spanish and offers much insight from his years at Back2Back Ministries.

For several attendees, this was their first time meeting each other in person. God blessed their time with strong unity and enthusiastic cross-collaboration. Each in-country leadership team works with different needs, cultures, and contexts, and they took this opportunity to learn from and support one another. We praise God for their faithfulness, and for His evident grace in this fruitful time!
