Some stories just touch my heart. This is one.

Mama lost her job 6 weeks ago. We hear that the Covid-19 virus affects all equally; but we see otherwise. In Baja, roughly 1/3 of all workers are in "the informal economy". We call it "Side Hustles" - a gig to bring in a few extra bucks to provide a cushion. They call it "supervivencia" - survival.....

Come, take a look with me. South of the border.

Not far from where I sit, a little girl sits in a makeshift classroom, stomach rumbling with hunger. As I go about my daily activities, a few miles to the south a young mother wonders why her baby seems always to be sick and is not flourishing. While I mow my lawn, a dad works the fields in the sun, resigned to the fact that he never gets ahead. He hopes he can put more than beans and tortillas on the table tonight.

Politicians pontificate. Companies compete. Religious leaders remonstrate. Advocates argue. Both sides are right. And each side is wrong. Wrong, because we have the means, and the will, to bring big change to the lives of innocent children who suffer. Wrong, because we talk, talk, talk – not do, do, do.
We have plenty of food! But still, kids go to bed hungry. Precious children, whose only fault is being dealt a bad hand in life. We at Hilarious Givers do more than talk – we, with help from folks just like you – are changing lives! Every day. Nourishing deserving children and their families. Bringing hope.

So, enough with the angry feelings. You can do something! Hilarious Givers provides thousands of meals for pennies a day to deserving children in northern Mexico. We’ve been doing so for more than 10 years. Together, we are changing lives, bringing peace, and providing for abundant lives every day. We have no paid staff – every penny donated goes to transportation, solicitation of food donations, and the administrative expenses every organization bears.
