IT’S GIVING TUESDAY
Love Thy Neighbor Movement has been putting in work for over a decade and a half in South San Diego, Tijuana and beyond. We’re talking bikes for kids who never had one, food for seniors who get forgotten, creative programs in juvenile halls, and hope in places most people drive past with their windows rolled up.

This isn’t charity. This is transformation.

Every dollar you give today goes straight into real neighborhoods, real families, and real moments that matter. It helps us:

• Create programs for low-income students
• Build creative arts programs for incarcerated youth
• Bless students, single parents, and foster kids
• Unite communities through service, art, and purpose

The Legacy Center San Diego in Mission Valley, in partnership with Love Thy Neighbor will host a powerful back-to-school community event, Pack the Plaza: Backpack & School Supplies Drive on Saturday, August 2nd from 12PM to 6PM.

The event is open to the public and will giveaway 500 backpacks (while supplies last) with supplies and encouragement they need to start the year strong.
More than just a giveaway, Pack the Plaza is a celebration of community, unity, and hope. The day will feature appearances from Los Angeles Chargers Alumni, the San Diego Police Department, and the San Diego Gulls, who will be bringing their mobile street hockey experience for kids.

This event will include: Live music by Collective Food trucks, Artisan Vendors and resource booths, Interactive games, and free entry to the Legacy Center Museum and 4D movie experience.

“Let’s pack more than just backpacks, let’s pack the plaza with community, connection, and purpose,” said Ruben Torres founder of Love Thy Neighbor Movement. “This is about showing our students and families that San Diego stands with them.”

The event takes place at the Legacy Center in Mission Valley, a landmark venue known for its annual Christmas on the Plaza event, a cherished tradition established by Legacy and MCWE Morris Cerullo World Evangelism founder Dr. Cerullo. “Dr. Cerullo’s heart was to leave a Legacy of always giving back,” added Jim Penner, VP of the Legacy Foundation. “Pack the Plaza is a continuation of that legacy, bringing joy, support, and tangible help to families right here in our community. The Legacy Resort & Spa isn’t just a hotel. It’s a hub for hope, faith, and community.”
